#1 jrgumby Jan 21, 2011 12:15:04	I have a player who knows a fair bit more Dark Sun than I do, and he's interested in playing a Dragonborn as a Nikaal which I am totally unfamiliar with. Any sources or bits about them so I dont feel totally lost?
#2 ritorix Jan 21, 2011 15:03:23	They are basically purple lizardmen.  Haven't seen any mention of them in 4e, you would have to dig out the old monster manuals.  They should be in the monster book on athas.org too.
#3 Tectuktitlay Jan 21, 2011 16:03:01	I'd totally let him.  Dragonborn is a very good fit for a Nikaal. Nikaal are purple lizard humanoids who have an acidic spit that they effectively use as a minor action (they can spit once every three rounds, and when they use it in a given round it is in addition to any other attack; nowadays, that would be an encounter power and a minor action!).  I'd require their dragon breath be acid damage (no choosing the damage type, sorry). They are tougher than humans, so the +Con to surges and Str modifier don't seem out of bounds.  They are also a trader society, not a warrior society.  So, it would be quite apropos for them to have a high Charisma.  I'd also replace Intimidate with Endurance for a skill bonus.  History seems perfect for a second skill, so leave that unchanged.   I'm also kind of anal about languages, so Draconic would be a no-no, and they'd have the Nikaal language, just as Kreen have their own language.
