Can anyone give me a source/resource or just a brief timeline on what happens after tyr get's freed? At least as it was described in the 2.0 sources and possible novels.
I've got my PC's rolling through a game now, and My thoughts go something like this...
Up to the primordial war, all is as in the core mythos.
-The Primordials won key victories not in the core Mythos.
-Entities from the far realm saw the writing on the wall, and offered help to the Gods in the for of the chaos shard. A weapon to use against the primordials.
-The god that used it wasn't chained but instead became a new Elder God ish thing.
-The Gods lost, but the last bastion of the astral sea to survive was the nine hells, and the devils.
-The devils again beseached the Others in the Far realm to grant them a weapon. The Others gave them arcane defilement (certainly not called that) as a tool to empower mortals to fight the primordials.
-The Primordials seal the astral sea away (coincidentally sealing the plane of shadow, where all the souls now go) and turned their attention to creation.
-The mortals resisted with arcane magic, and the chaos seed finally fulfilled it's purpose breeding Demons.
-The Primordials mostly withdrew from creation to combat the Demons (a fight which rages to the current year) while Mortals abuse arcane powers to the current state.
The adventure the PC's are running is them finding the last piece of divinity, a god seed from the old sun god. Through the adventure they will basically have the option for one of them to ascend to deity status.
I'm just curious what the "old party line" was on dark sun so I don't step on too many canon toes.
and thoughts on my timeline/logic of events?
Apparently Athas had a very Dune esque kind of story where rain falls, etc. that's the stuff I'm curious about.
Also my time line is to supplement the history, since in my history Rajaat was taught arcane magic by the devils...
After Kalak is slain, Tithian, his highest ranking Templar, becomes King. Tithian was in on the plot to kill Kalak. After this, the legions of Urik, sensing a weakened enemy ripe for the picking, march on Tyr. Tyr ends up fending them off. The heroes that killed Kalak then take on the Dragon. They kill the Dragon and at some point free Rajaat? Rajaat wreaks havoc but is then re-imprisoned. Several sorceror kings are killed in the process. Talk about a soap-opera.
Basically the metaplot after the original Boxed Set is a transition of who is the 'big bad guy'. The crown is passed around a few times.
1) The Dragon. Killed in the novels. Allowing #2 to escape.
2) Rajaat. Imprisoned again in the novels, but he is revealed as some sort of primordial force now. Still causes the occasional trouble from his prison.
3) Dregoth. This never got around to being published before TSR axed the setting, but see the Dregoth Ascending adventure from athas.org (excellent module). After the above two are dead/locked away and his sorcerer king peers are mostly dead, he makes a play for godhood. I could definitely see him fitting into your overall plot.
The quest that these people go on is called "the search" and no one outside of the individuals in the quest what it is about. Each person on this quest has their own mission and objective to carry out. All that can be certain is that the Search is to find Kalak, but that could end with him being captured, killed or resurrected.
urik marches towards tyr to take the iron mine.
rickus makes an army out of mostly gladiators and ex templars and dwarves from kled
the crimson legion as they are called defeats the urikite army and takes the fight to urik
hamanu shows up and devastates the army by himself
rickus tucks tail and heads home.
sadira doesnt give make the magic item that nok gave her
nok comes for it she kills him and as he is dying he turns the heartwood spear into a tree
sadira kills ablach re
sadira is turned into a sun wizard by the shadow giants(cursed halflings) at the pristine tower
tithian leaves to find the dark lens
agis follows him
tithian obtains the dark lens and kills agis
rickus kills the dragon
wayan and sacha are killed by rickus and sadira
tithian releases rajaat from his prison
all the sorcerer kings have been trailing him and attempt to stop him but are too late
rajaat kills tektuktelay by crushing his skull with the dark lens
banishes androponis to 1000 years in the black
rajaat reeks havok for a few mins before being banished by a light spell cast through the dark lens by a low level mul sun cleric named rykard tithian is trapped with rajaat and he becomes the cerealean storm..

That is old cannon of course. This is awhole new Dark Sun. I dont think the dragon is going to be dying. The prisim pentad took the whole world and undid everything for the setting.
- the gods are sealed away; this is a consequence of losing the Dawn War
- finding a god shard ought to set off a chase between the PCs, some other Divine Power remnant, and a Vestige'Lock working on his own God Fragment PP. Winner (only) gets to take the Demigod ED. Then he gets to notify the primordials to prep for Dawn War Round Two!
- the PCs will eventually want to fight the Dragon. But he's the ultimate Epic foe in DS; take your time.
- although, the Dragon could come 'round for its tribute and the PCs could help a city (try to) fend it off
- Dregoth wants revenge for his defeat and death; HE might take out a few nearby sorcerer-kings in the process. Then set himself up, more powerful than before.
- EVERY dead sorcerer-king will create social upheaval, similar to Tyr post-Kalak. Upper-Paragon individuals will want to fill in the vaccuum, and some sorcerer-kings (Hamanu?) might try to combine two cities in one state.
- Why should Urik attack Tyr, until after attempts to suborn the New Order have failed? Remember that 2000-year-old beings are very very good at manipulation from behind the scenes. Hamanu might sponsor somebody else ... somebody not traceable to him ...
