They all seem pretty incompatible with druid - most of them are weapon-based, and those that aren't are either arcane or psionic. Not to mention that since I plan on playing beast-heavy, they all have issues with using powers in beast form. Elemental Priest is the only primal non-weapon one...and it's not what I had in mind. Yes, I'm aware that I don't have to have the same power source in the theme as I do in my class, but that doesn't even help much. But what else can I do? |

You just have to work with your DM to adjust the theme so that its implications for back-story fit yours. For instance, I doubt your character was really trained in a city-state's academy. But say that you were indeed trained in such a place: then you could make your back-story that you fled civilization for the wilderness and learned the ways of nature. |

It would not be inconcievable that they would teach their members psionic talents not disimilar to the academies of the city states. |

Its power isn't spectacular, but it also grants training in Bluff which makes it somewhat more broadly useful than many themes. Remember though, that having a weapon-based theme power isn't the end of the world. You're likely to be using a staff as an implement, right? Its also a weapon. Consider the theme power a free option for using outside of beast form. Something like the Wasteland Nomad or Wilder can give you a ranged power if your beastform powers tend to be close. You can view it as a free ticket to focus more on the class beastform powers. |
