| #1rotheSep 28, 2010 3:02:53 | I am planning to run the old 2nd ed module "Freedom" for my intoductionary adventure to the world of Dark Sun. Since it starts out kind of rough for the PC's I am thinking of the following: My idea is to introduce themes gradually. So, you might choose a theme, but before "gaining" it, you have to be initiated to it in the adventure. I will make sure there is a way to get into each theme in the adventure, which should be pretty easy for the most part - some NPC's are good introductions and fighting in the arena definitely is a good way to get the gladiator theme etc. etc. I feel like it should give some extra feeling of being rewarded when you actually gain a power and some cool options from something you achieve in the game. I don't intend to have it take too long to get into a particular theme. Probably everyone will get their theme inside one level advancement step in any case. Any ideas from a player perspective? Would you enjoy "chasing" your theme down. Perhaps it will make it more memorable when you get it? Any tips? I know how to enter with the following at least: Escaped Slave Gladiator Veiled Alliance Minstrel Noble adept Less sure about: Templar Elemental priest Dune trader I also probably forgot about something. |

It's not a bad idea, it just isn't something I would do. |
