Thanks in advance for the input... I'm actually redoing the PP adventure for my players and they're near the end of "The Amber Enchantress" (leaving Nibenay).
Unfortunately, my command of the PP has decline over the past year, and I cannot give you an assuredly correct answer at the moment.
If nothing else though, I can say that I believe Tithian searched it out with classic adventuring, which is not elaborated upon, in the many years between the death of Kalak and the death of Borys. I may very well be wrong however.
Search the Obsidian Oracle for the answer to your question. It is almost certainly there. I would not consult much else, as only the Obsidian Oracle, or perhaps a recap given in the Cerulean Storm, will give you the answers you seek.

Tithian claimed that he was able to locate Jo'orsh and Sa'ram's banshees with his magic, thereby learning the location of the Lens itself. The Lens itself, as I recall, was immune to location by divination of any sort.
IIRC, anyone attempting to tell of the Lens' location to a Champion would have his brains come out of his ears. It never prevented anyone else from finding it.

That sounds very familiar, actually. I do recall something about the Lens being enchanted to prevent Borys and the SKs from locating it, but the brains-from-ears thing rings true as well. Doesn't Andropinis talk about that to Tithian when Tithian is persuading him to lend him the Balican fleet? And when Tithian is speaking to Agis about the Lens, he is very careful not to mention where it is, instead describing how he found it instead. Makes sense if he was trying to keep his brains where they belong

A spy might find it, tell his superior, who tells his superior, who writes it down and brings the scroll to the SK's throne room. He starts to say the location and dies. The scroll rolls out of his hand and a courrier picks it up and starts reading the location off of it and dies. The SK picks up the scroll and tries reading it and the scroll burns.
The information when the death occured was passed from one person - anyone - and a Champion. Tithian could find it, discuss it, as long as it wasn't with an SK.
