Is Vault of Darom Madar from recent Dungeon magazine #181 a good Dark Sun intro adventure?

It's for 1st level characters and I'm thinking of going Dark Sun for our next campaign.  I've skimmed it, but was wondering how it actually played.  From what I've seen of Aeryn "Blackdirge" Rudel so far, I like his stuff.

Anyone play it/DM this adventure already?  What did you think?  Good intro to Dark Sun?

I keep hearing the print published DS intro module, Marauders of the Dune Sea, was utterly atrocious, doing nothing to capture DS's unique flavor, and even included gross errors.

Meanwhile, VoDM continues on from the quick intro delve in the DSCS, so I'm hoping for a few good reviews.

I am about to start a game where I plan on running Betrayal at Altaruk, Veiled Threat, Sand Raiders, Vault of Darom Madar, and then Marauders of the Dune Sea. I hear we will be getting a follow up adventure to Marauders next month, so I plan to run the Lost Cistern of Aravek and the follow up to Marauders after that. I have not had a chance to really check out the Lost Cistern in detail as of yet (though I like the concept), or the unpublished adventure that follows Marauders (obviously), but I have taken a look at the others in quite a bit of detail. So far, the Vault of Darom Madar seems like one of the better ones (along with Betrayal at Altaruk and Veiled Threat), and seems to be a good sight more interesting than either Marauders or Raiders. I like it. It has both some intresting fights, and some good opportunities to roleplay. It seems like a solid Dark Sun adventure to me.

Where can I find the three adventures: Betrayal at Altaruk, Veiled Threat, Sand Raiders

I have been searching on the site and cannot find them.

Thanks!

The Free RPG Day Dark Sun adventure contains two mini adventures - Betrayal and Threat. No idea what the other one is; might be the included adventure at the end of the DSCG.

Cistern is some kind of "Free RPG Day" type of release as well. There's also the Dark Sun Encounters series of adventures.

I'm running the DSCG intro module now (on 3rd encounter) and going to transition right into VoDM.

First link in sig if you want to see how its going.  Its pretty easy to connect the two, I'm putting a House Madar npc in the caravan that you rescue in the intro.  As for VoDM, its looking pretty good.  I plan on running it pretty close to the original and have the first 3 levels mapped out already with what loot to give (using new DS guidelines) based on each encounter.

The first two were both mini adventures as part of the Free RPG Day Bloodsand Arena pack.  The last one is the mini adventure in the back of the campaign guide.

Vault of Doram Madar is a MUCH BETTER adventure than Maruaders of the Dune Sea.  I haven't run it, but it is well designed and well written.  The arc that many of you described is probably what i would do as well.  I think WoTC is thinking that we will roll that way too.  I do hope we get another adventure from Dungeon that is just as good as "Vault".
