So, I have been diong an ongoing Dark Sun game where I have so far done the Bloodsand Arena and Sand Raiders adventures.  It was five players, but a friend who had moved to California came back into town and she has joined the group.  THe issue is that I was going to move to the Vault of Darom Madar and found that, as I went through my Masterplan notes, the encounters suddenly become a crapload easier in some cases with a sixth player, it seems.

I tried just upping the difficulty, but this causes xp budgets to go odd I"m finding, as suddenly they just become more able to stomp later things.  I have been going through and thinking on how to do this and I probably will just reduce xp a bit (I want to keep it at a certain level before moving it over to other plotlines) and such.  I was wondering what are ways folks have done that, specifically in the case of things like the what I gather supposed-to-be hard parts like the assassins, and the solos.

Thanks for any help on this, as I am a bit a newb at this and it is proving odd to figure out.

And stuff.

Read over the DMG about the xp budgets (which you may have done) so you'll divvy it up among six; it should work out alright. For published adventures just add an extra monster into the encounter equal to the lowest level non-minion foe in the standard encounter. So if you have four minion silt stalkers at level 2, a human slaver at level 1, and a human defiler at level 2 (for example), then add in an extra slaver to account for your extra PC
