| #1habukberhtJul 07, 2010 19:48:02 | So I am wanting to start a DS campaign with a friend doing some DM swapping. Unfortunately we want to do this before the book comes out. I need some ideas on what I should do in order to create a proper early campaign... I figure I can just go about things as normal and then allow people to "retrain" their entire characters when we get the book just to see what is going on... but I dunno, any ideas? |

Just use their 1st level theme powers, figure out their racial bonuses, and so on. Once the books come out, just let them re-choose their powers, or re-roll their characters or whatever. |

This chapter will be a backdrop that will lead into the rest of the game after the books come out. I dunno though... he has veto power on this so we will see. |

For example I´m creating a templar for when the book comes out... so far I got that my urikite templar left Urik in search of his past, having recently discovered that he has parents, the templar got lost in the wastelands and found refuge in a cave, there was tyrian templar ghost that asked for revenge, obviously the urikite templar bargained the existence of the ghost in exchange of something... the ghost then promised the location of an steel longsword. So thats why my character heads to Tyr. It´s an idea that can help create a better adventure. "What do the players want for their characters" it´s always useful. |

Your characters can visit a thriving city in one age, and ruins when Dark Sun comes out. Show some signs of the world being defiled (scars of war, defiling magic, psionics, abominations from the far realms...). It's not Dark Sun... but it might work out. |
| #8PalladinaeJul 16, 2010 3:08:11 | Very nice idea. I play with one of running short, fantasy generic adventure in very specific location (valley in shadow of characteristic mountain). I'd like to show it as vibrant world: lush forest, streams of crystal clear water, dryads, nymphs, unicorns and tower of some good wizard). Then I plan to run Dark Sun as itself and drive PC's to that same area, but desolated, destroyed and defiled. Let them discover, what happened, what tragedies had place. |

There are only a few SK's left but they are even more powerful than before. Soon one of them could become the first God in Athas. www.darksunwiki.com/darksun/index.php/Ti... en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dark_Sun |
