I have a friend who keeps insisting that he should play a Warforged in Darksun. I've explained to him about survival days, and suggested he be a Thri-Kreen instead. I later thought that since Warforged have a blood-like fluid, that fluid will congeal and thicken in the extreme heat of Athas; and thus during wilderness travel, he would have to still use survival days worth of water to maintain these fluids. Also, in Draj, it says that Tektuktitlay once had an army of stone-like golems, but not anymore. (He also thinks he should be able to Defile his allies in place of water, but I think that's going too far.) |

Make it Draj-flavored and have him THINK that defiling is a way to sustain himself, but then suggest the contrary when it comes to need of survival days. |

As for the survival days/water bit, I'd just let him get by with not needing them. It's not a game-breaking ability, and the party will still be concerned with survival days, assuming that not every last one of them is warforged. So that challenge remains for the party, but the 'Forged player gets something special. |
