There may be better videos out there of this scene, some with the actual great sound effects...but still.

Check out at 3:23 (I suggest muting the lame music). This is what I imagine a sorcerer-king's extra powerful defiling looks like.

Okay, that's pretty good.

I don't have a link to it but there is a scene in an episode of Carnivale where the plants whither and die but compared to the above, it's subtle!

Turlough, that's exactly what I was thinking! There are some great scenes in Carnivale of defiling/healing... namely when Ben heals Jonesy and every bird drops out of the sky.

Early on, though, when he heals the farm girl, is how I see it.
Look at 2:52...

Just add #t=2m52s to the end of the web address before you link to it, and it will bring people to that spot.

El_ahrairah I really liked that. I definitely think this would be what defiling is like.

Thanks, Pennarin!

These are all pretty cool examples... I think I like the Dark Willow clip best, as it shows the withering vegetation, but also the energy and wind being kicked up from some powerful spellcasting.

I think the best Carnivale scene for Defiling would actually be in the series finale when Sofie awakens to her Omega status and she brings Justin back to life and the corn field dies en mass and very quickly.

Damn HBO for cancelling that series!!
