I always tell new players it is kind of like Ancient Mesopotamia meets Mad Max II...

How do you start to describe it to newbie players?

Imagine a desert, where magic is evil, the gods are dead, and all the bad guys won. That's DS. Oh, by the way, make an extra character, cuz the one you just made is gonna die next session.
