I realize that, but it's a shame to think that all the hard work and downloadable material that was previously on the site should just vanish.

I got a message saying the domain name was up for grabs. If I read it right, that is. It could just be the usual placeholder page.

The domain is definitely not up for grabs, like I said it's still taking me right to their main page. I've even refreshed the page to make sure I'm not just loading up an old cached version. The site is definitely still there.

Been trying to access the site all day. No dice. There is definitely something wrong, but no idea what it might be.

the domain is showing expired on 8/10/2009. If you are still able to access it then you probably have a dns cache. Run nslookup athas.org from a command line and post the IP address you get.

Eh, you could have just asked for the IP. Anyways, it won't help. If you go to the IP you just get a page that says "IT WORKS!", unless you know the root directory for their home page of course. You also could easily have just googled athas.org IP and you likely would have gotten the answer that way.

Anyways, if you want it here it is 65.78.231.230

Anyways, while it seems there's something wrong, I'm telling you that it isn't that their domain has expired. Just to confirm I blew away my entire cache and history and cookies and just everything, it's still connecting for me. It's probably a routing issue would be my guess.

You are right, I probably should have just googled for IP address.

If anyone wants to be able to connect to the site, and is unable to you can add

65.78.231.230 athas.org to your hosts file to be able to pull up the site.

Whois.net definately is showing the domain in expired/renewal phase with network solutions. It is your DNS servers that are caching if you are still able to connect, not your browser.

Hum... Athas.org will/should not get down. There are still many things to do as fan. At least athas.or team will NOT have to create the mechanic they will be able to do fluff around.

One would hope that they get on the ball and pay the renewal fee, and quickly. It sure would suck to lose the domain.

I'm sure several of us have tried contacting Flip, has anyone heard from him since the 17th (the date his site went down)?

It's okay, folks. Nobody's shut us down.

Or rather, Netsol has ... in the process of renewing. Shouldn't be long, but you never know. This is just really bad timing.
