The city-state of Tyr, yes, is Phoenician.

Other city-states represent other cultures. Balic-Rome, Gulg-Africa, Draj-Aztec, Nibenay-China, Raam-India/Egypt, Urik-Sumeria

Well, sorta.  Balic is more Greek, and Nibenay encorporates a lot of the Khmer empire.  Gulg is West and Central African in particular; Raam, Tyr, and a bit of Balic cover North Africa (Greece and Rome both had colonies there).

And is anyone else having trouble posting?

I have trouble posting all the time...

This is the list I use. Very few are perfect, especially since different authors treat the material differently, but I find the following very satisfying for my games:

(By the way, this list comes from the old Dark Sun listserv, with a few adjustments I made)

Balik (Greek), ruled by Andropinis
Draj (Aztec), ruled by Tectuktitlay
Gulg (Central Africa), ruled by queen Lalali-Puy
Nibenay (Cambodia/Thai/Angkor Wat), ruled by Nibenay
Raam (Egyptian/Hindi), ruled by queen Abalach-Re
Tyr (Roman/Phoenician), ruled by Kalak (recently deceased)

Urik (Babylonian/Mesopotamia), ruled by Hamanu

What about New Giustenal? (not sure if that counts as a city or not)

Read from the Wanderer's Journal, they're all pretty much Roman in culture, with different themes.
