I want to play a thri-kreen for our new Dark Sun campaign, but I don't know what roles will be open (usually I let everyone else pick what they want to play and I fill whatever role is left.) What, in your opinion, is the best class choice - per role - for a thri-kreen? Thanks in advance.

Striker-Ranger(this one is pretty obvious for the whole race is about hunting)

Contoller-Seeker (thrown version with Chatchka, it comes back as a class feature!)

Leader-Shaman (have its spirit be insectlike too)(Ardent as a close second)

Defender-Battlemind (the new build in the Psionic power is perfect)

I agree with everything here except Defender, which I shall add my 2cp as Fighter being the best, what with the built-in accuracy boost to make up for the lack of a boost to your primary.  A Tempest Fighter is easily the best here, what with the "iconic" kreen having a weapon in each hand... or a gythka.

Was pared down to Dex/Wis, speed 7, skill bumps Nature and Athletics, always has a running start for jumping, and gets a free Quick Draw 1/round.  Have not seen what alternate stat they get, if any.

Yeah Tempest fighter would be my second choice due to the wisdom bump, but the dex works for the new Battlemind build and its all about speed.  Very old school kreen to me.

Info released on some threads indicates that Thri-Kreen actually get either Str/Dex or Dex/Wis boosts, so Tempest Fighters really are the best defender build for them at the moment.

Nothing on Monks? No mention of Monks? A Thri-Kreen stunning fist stunning fist stunning fist stunning fist. Psi-leap into enemies with a three way claw attack followed by stone fist. Or maybe a calm, solo monk hunter with the patience of a stalking tiger using centered breath style.

Thri-Kreen make excellent psionic or primal characters, of almost any class.

Monk was actually the first option that came to mind, followed by ranger. Odds of me getting the striker role aren't too good though...

They are remarkable monks, and their paragon path seems to utilize it very well.

As mentioned, they get either dex/str or dex/wis, so either or the established monk paths is open to you.

Moreover, your encounter power is a melee attack that targets one, two, or three creatures and does extra damage the more targets you have.  So being the type of character that gets into melee would be good.

Per role, I'd go like this:

Striker - Monk
Defender - Fighter
Controller - Druid or Seeker
Leader - Shaman (Though could make a pretty good Warlord as well - the Dex bonus can help with Heavy Blade feats)
