I did a little digging and in the old TSR City state of Tyr book I found a short list of farming plants of the Tyr region

not a complete list can you think of any more????

Bulis berry has a hairy thick brown skin used for wine (almost like a grape)

Cotton (edit: wait ... what? cottons not food!)

Faro a twisted cactus used as a cash crop by many of the nobles faro grows as tall as a man with a handful of scaly stems that rise into a tangled crown of needle covered boughs. faro trees each piece of the sweet delicious fruit is worth as much as the tree itself the faro needles can be harvested several times a year and can be ground into a fine flour

grall a squat thorny cactus that produces two to three bitter bulbous fruits per plant every three months usually fermented to make cactus blue

neep a thick root vegetable grows underground bland flavor orange colored

N'ku'ru'ma a waist tall mallow plant that produces finger sized green pods when roasted over an open fire the pods take on a sweet flavor (the pods are protected by short fine needles that must be removed before prepration)

Oleracea a succulent leafed plant that is a staple vegetable in the regions

scuppernong the silver berry that grows on small scrubby bushes the berry can be eaten alone or fermented to produce a silver colored wine the wine tends to be thick and slightly bitter

Kank steaks?

please add to the list and dont be limited by fruits and veggies

Baazrag, erdlu, jankz, jip, and z'tal skewers served with a stack of unleavened bread is daily fare.

Mekillot steaks or inix tail make excellent dining for those rich enough to afford several ceramics for a single meal.

Exotic meats such as cha'trang or cloud ray are mouth-watering, but rare and expensive.
Erdlu eggs, kank nectar and filtered jalath'gak-blood nectar are readily available at most eateries for several ceramics each.

We also learn that at the Golden Inix inn, they serve Tyrian ale and Asticles wine.

Dec 12, 2010 18:29:57 Well, there wouldn't be any kank steaks as the bugs are supposed to become disgustingly ammonia-flavoured as soon as they die. However as putrid as it is, they ARE supposed to be edible. I suppose if an elf tribe was truly starving, they might eat a kank or two.

Baazrags and other monsters would be wild game, and commonly eaten by hunters.

I can see nobles eating particularly rare fare. The more dangerous to acquire, the better! Gaj brains or Braxat heart is probably something Sorceror Kings dine on.
