We can have a dx rolled at character creation, and based on that, the character is assigned a wild talent from their race's table. For instance, the Thri-Kreen table may be: 1- Psionic communication 2- Intimidating aura 3- Psi Jump 4- Alien mindset (defense) Or the half-giant: 1- Psychic trip 2- Biofeedback (defense) 3- Thunderous roar 4- Stunning weapon 5- Squeeze Kinda like everybody has extra racial features on Athas, of a psionic flavor. Any ideas? |

D&D 3.0, 3.5, and 4.0 all are more concerned with character parity than 2.0 and 2.5. First, are you using The Burnt World of Athas, Dragon Magazine, or another source for the basis of your races? Then, how will this Wild Talent feature work with the Wild Talent and Hidden Talent feats? Will the characters get additional power points per day or will these be psi-like abilities with a number of uses per day? What will happen to the CRs of NPCs with Wild Talents? I hope I didn't overload you with too many ideas at once! |

The way it would be made equal is everyone gets some kind of wild talent on athas, and none of them are game breakingly good. All the PCs and most NPCs. No rolling percentiles to see if someone has access to a 9th level science or any of the other 2nd ed shenanigans. |
