Here be spoilers (just being on the safe side).

So I got a question about the time line.

Show

Basically DDEX 2-15 suggests that the adventure happens a month after Mulmaster Undone. Which is really confusing since 2-14 takes place before that. In 2-14 you are meant to overthrow Drakehorn, but a month later she is still and well in control as Highblade.

Anyone have any insight? Do I misunderstand or? And for those that DM it already, any advice on how to handle this?

Since adventures can be played out of order, the default is given in the other adventure as to who is in charge. Once critical events are compiled at the end of the season, we will know who it is for certain, but if you table had different results, you should use those results when you play.

Sorry for piggy backing, but my question is kinda of similar:

Isnt DDEX2-14 (Sword of Selfaril) suppose to follow DDEX2-04 (mayhem of Earthspurmine)?

At the end of Earthspur Mine we can give the sword to Bhun outside the tavern, to Bhun inside the tavern, or keep it for yourself, and the module make a big it seem important that the player register what they did with the sword (kept it, gave it to Bhun inside or outside the tavern)

At the beginning of Sword of Selfaril, we only have 2 choice, the player have the sword or do not have the sword. No matter the reason why the player do not have the sword (never did the first adventure, gave it to Bhun inside or outside or even maybe lost it) a halfling die in front of you with the sword.

Did I miss something?

what was the point to make a big deal out of what happen with the sword at the end of Mayhem EArthspr Mine?

Was their a cool idea that got dismiss because player who didn't do Mayhem in Earthspur Mine might have felt like missinig something?

Did the author simply screwed up (this is just a question not a statement) and forgot to incorporate the end of the previous module?

What happen?
