| #1ZephemusAug 12, 2014 17:19:34 | This is concerning League play with the following things I noticed while reading my PHB today.
1. Can a halfling use Halfling Nimbleness (PHB p.28) to end it's movement in a square occupied by a larger hostile creature?
2. If someone with the Lucky (PHB p.167) feat were to use it's second ability to make a contest roll against an attack made against them. Would I, as the DM, be required to let the player see what I rolled behind my DM screen? I typically like to play with my dice secretive to the players.
3. If a warlock with Pact Boon: Pact of the Tome (PHB p.108) took the Ritual Caster (PHB p.169) feat either before or after getting the Pact Boon, is it safe to say that the Book of Shadows would be the tome used in both of those abilities or would the Warlock have to carry two special tomes?
4. If a character is part of a faction when spending downtime to practice a profession, could they sustain a comfortable lifestyle in the same manner as listed in the second paragraph under Practice a Profession (PHB p.187)?
EDIT: Page citations. |

| #3ZephemusAug 13, 2014 5:52:01 | Yeah, but the questions then is, do I keep my die roll secret from the player and have them decide blindly (which sounds rather fun), or is the opting use of a die roll enough of a test of luck that I'm encouraged to give them what I rolled before they decide? |
| #4Setzer_GAug 13, 2014 6:01:51 | Get a feel for the player. Be prepared to do either (roll openly or secretly). Some players will react badly to secretly rolling, while others embrace it.
RAW trumps this either way, but you can be prepared for the type of person behind the bard. Unless otherwise discussed, I would say secretly. |
| #5ZephemusAug 13, 2014 6:13:57 | I've seen the acronyms RAW and RAI on a couple threads here, but I'm afraid I don't know what they mean. |
| #6DocSunAug 13, 2014 7:49:38 | RAW is Rules as Written RAI is Rules As Intended |
| #7ZephemusAug 13, 2014 9:44:35 | Alright thanks.
EDIT: btw, added a fourth question to the list. |
