Adventure-specific play reports, feedback & DM tips

This is a bit of a meta discussion.

In 4E & LFR, each region had their own community group, which although not incredibly well-frequented, was a somewhat official place for adventure feedback and DM advice (Waterdeep is a good example).

Is there an official space for that? We've got so many communities going now that I get confused. There are these forums, the D&D AL site, the AL wiki, something called "The Bazaar", which I got to trying to register for the wiki, and myriad Facebook groups. There's also a google doc, which is already up to 22 pages, and lacks the organization and moderateability of the forums.

The rolling nature of these forums means that the posts will disappear over time, so they won't serve as a great hub for feedback either, since the posts will just get lost. So here's what I propose:

  • Each adventure gets an official feedback thread posted on these forums
  • This thread will link to them so that they don't get lost
  • Sticky this post (can the admins do that? Does WotC need to? How hard is it?)
  • I will find all such threads that exist to date and link them there
  • As a community we'll direct discussions to the correct threads
  • I'll volunteer to maintain and prune the thread as things come out.
  • I'll maintain links to official D&DAL resources (such as the suggested errata docs)
  • We'll do our best to maintain a constructive tone, and leverage the forum tools and ORCs to enforce it.

Does this make sense? If such a thing already exists I don't want to creat a duplicate effort.

Here's some guidelines for posting feedback:

  • Rule zero: keep it constructive! Posting that something was frustrating is fine, especially with some ideas on how to improve it. Posting that the author is a terrible person or the DM was a jerk is not.
  • Errata suggestions should end up in the D&D Adventurers League Suggestions and Errata doc, but these threads are a good place to discuss what that errata should be.
  • Don't post spoilers in this thread
  • Did I mention to keep it constructive?

Creating Feedback Threads

If a feedback thread doesn't exist and you have feedback, create it! You can bump this thread with your and I'll do my best to keep it up to date. The most important thing is the thread title, which should be something along the lines of either:

  • DM Expeditions Thread <adventure title>
  • [Spoilers] Feedback: <code> <title>

It's important to let casual forumgoers know right away that there are spoilers incomming. If you do that, you don't need to worry so much about putting sblocks around everything (although it's never a bad idea). To create hidden text like this:

Show

This text is hidden!

List of expeditions threads, by season. If there's a dedicated feedback thread it'll be the main bullet point. If someone's created a specific question thread, I'll add that as a link.

Elemental Evil

Tyranny of Dragons

If a thread doesn't exist in this list, please create it and post a link to it here. Try not to create new threads if one already exists.

The bazaar is an internal discussion group for the campaign staff. Only campaign staff can edit the wiki. I will see what can be done to prevent such confusion in future
