Hello,

I've been on hiadus (spelling?) since December.  What are the new adventures for level 5+ characters which were supposed to be released in march?  I played one where the cultist army was attacking the town and we had to escape/rescue the lord but what comes after that?  I've got a level 5 paladin ichen for his aura of savings throw fantasticness.

there is 4 tier 2 expedition release at the moment for season 1:

Tyrrany in Phlan (the one you did where you save the Lord and escape Phlan with the villager)

Sorcerer Isles, where you need to investigate a old wizard tower causing mutation to the environment around it, and preventing cultist from using it.

Raider of the twilight Marsh where you go steal the hoard of a black dragon while he's visiting Phlan.

cannot remember the name, but you returni n Phlan to save some key NPC necessary to retake Phlan from teh cultist (in a later module)

are you sure that DDEX2-3 and DDEX2-4 will be tier 2 already? how is our season 2 character suppose to reach level 5 by DDEX2-3?

If DDEX 2-1 is like DDEX1-1 those 5 advetnure grant only 100XP each, for a total of 500XP

If DDEX2-2 is like DDEX1-2 it will give a maximum of 600XP for a total of 1100XP enought to get slightly over level 3 (900XP) but not enought to reach level 4 (2700XP) and we cannot use the "catch up" downtime to go from 3 to 5 (catch-up is reserved for 4 to 5 and maybe 10 to 11, and I assume it will become available for 15-16 when tier 4 module will be released)

or are we suppose to play PotA and the DDEX stuff with the same character? meaning that we have to finish the episode/adventure in a single session to avoid problems jumping from one to the other?

or does DDEX2-3 suppose to be played using our season 1 character?

or are we suppose to rerun season 1 ToD adventure with our season 2 caracter?

and what happen to DDEX2-5/6/7/8 ? I though the module where created with the idea to be run in there release order, even if not necessary. so having Tier 2 adventure for DDEX2-3 /4 then going back to tier 1 for DDEX2- 5/6/7/8 seem kinda of odd.

There are two tracks, one intended for those continuing PCs from season one (who are 5+) and one for those with new season 2 PCs (who are 1). If you are starting a brand new PC, you can play all the tier 1-4s and then go back to the 5-10s (though it might require a little suspension of disbelief), but in the meantime, the people who don't want to start a new character are also getting some adventures to play. Of course if you have a ToD PC, you can play them in the 5-10s and play your EE PC in the 1-4s and play everything in the release order.

@Greg: Will there be an update of the list for DDEX2-10+, they are currently listed as TBD - or are those adventure names subject to change and are working names only?

If you click on them on the website, you will see those working titles are already there.

I avoid that issue entirely as I require my players to keep their HPs/spell slots/etc separate between adventures. I have gone so far as to suggest players have two copies of their character sheet (but not logsheet) - one for Encounters and one for Expeditions.

That way, they can easily track how much HPs, spell slots, rages, etc they have remaining without any sudden "long rests" becoming an issue. Any XP they earned from either adventure is tracked on their logsheet however, so they might "level up" between sessions - but that is the only side effect, and one I don't have an issue with for a simple reason.

  • Their current HPs/spell slots don't increase to match their new maximums until they have a long rest. They could however, spend HD or healing magic to heal to their new maximum HPs however, but the new spell slots would still be offlimits until after a long rest.
