What In-game date (year/month/day) do the first Adventurers League adventures start on/near?

Great, we have a decade before we can party like it's 1499!

I think it means Dale Reckoning. As in the Dalelands or something.

Its when the Standing Stone was raised to signifying the peace agreement between the Elves of Cormanthor and the Dalesfolk (Humans). Humans had been agressively cutting down trees, setting on the outskirts until then. Facing heavy Elven resistance, both sides came to a pact over settlement issues. This was the 'Dalereckoning'

According to the end of the Hoard of the Dragon Queen Encounters PDF where it listes reference material it says that the current timeline is 5-10 years after the end of The Sundering, which ends in 1487 according to The Herald. Where does 1489 come from?

While designing the adventures for the DnDAL, we asked WOTC "When do you want this campaign to start?" and they told us it is 1489. As for why did they choose that date, I do not know the answer.

Sorry to resurrect a post from last year, but I have a question regarding the 1489 DR start date. As I understand it, the volcano Mount Hotenow erupted in 1451 DR destroying Neverwinter (per the events in http://forgottenrealms.wikia.com/wiki/Gauntlgrym_(novel)).  However, on page 40 Hoard of the Dragon Queen it mentions that "...until a century ago, when Neverwinter was nearly destroyed by the eruption of Mount Hotenow."

Can I safely assume that Hoard of the Dragon Queen should have stated "...until almost a half century ago, when Neverwinter was nearly destroyed by the eruption of Mount Hotenow."?

Hobtor: I have a feeling that they didnt do a look of Realms consulting when writing Hoard of the Dragon Queen. Id definetly be saying 'Half a Century'
