| #1SorxoresDec 11, 2014 10:53:20 | For christmas vacation, I'm heading to my parent town, and I called at my old store where I used to when I was still living with my parent and they'll do a AL encounter in the morning on the 24th and they have a table for tier 2 (level 5 to 10) that I should be able to join.
But here my question: How are AL DM are suppsoe to handle players from different table who were playing with different rules/interpretation of the rule?
For example, my current store we use feat, what is the new store I'm going to wanted a simple easy game and doesn't allow feat? is my character illegal and I cannot join the table? do we simply convert my feat into a stat boost for this game like if I was under level 4 and still allowed for character reforges?
My current store allow crossbow feat to let you dual weild crossbow and shoto with both crossbow every round, without worrying about reload (since the feat say ignore reload property) but I know this is a huge debate (that I don't want to start on this tread) and many DM say this doesn't work like this (which would cripple a character using that feat.
What about houserule (like my DM told me that is a Dragonblood line sorcerer want to be from a different element then Fire, he would allow him to convert some elemental spell into there elements, so this way all the dragon blood line are equal (other wise the poison and acid bloodlines only have access to 2 or 3 spells) and without increasing the power of the sorcerer (if your a poison dragon and learn poisonous fireball, you cannot cast fireball, you can only cast poisonous fireball (dealing only poison damage and still destroying "flammable object by melting them/breaking them or burning them depending on what make more sense), but if such a sorcerer is no longer AL legit and cannot move to a different table? or simply converting the sorcerer back into a AL legit format (so going back to a fire bloodline and changing back poisonous fireball to regualr fireball for example) could ba acceptable? |

This do NOT mena that one interpretation is right and the other is cheating, they are both acceptable interpretation until WotC release an official errata to standardize the game.
From my understanding of your post the easier way to play this one would be to "cheat" and change my character before getting to the store to remove any ambiguouish ruling (like crossbow expert which even if inherent to my character concept (the Diablo 3 demon hunter) I could play for a week with a +2 Dex instead then change it back to crossbow expert.. |
