I was reorganizing my paperwork (Adventures, pregens, etc) and realized that I don't keep track of any DM rewards. Better late than never, I guess, but I'm curious on how others go about organizing and applying the rewards? Do you keep a Master sheet with all of your rewards per season/adventure? Do you just apply them to the Log Sheets of their respective characters? How do you recommend spending them (get a guy to 2, or go all in for a Lv5)?
I record mine on a normal logsheet tagged "DM rewards" for that official feel. Whenever I distribute the rewards to one of my PCs, I make a remark on the adventure notes/downtime activity section about which of my characters received it. I don't fill in the lines for starting XP, gold or downtime, or the totals -- just what I earned for running that adventure -- since distributing it later means lots of editing on those lines.
On the PC logsheet, I treat receiving DM rewards as a separate "session."
Personally, I recommend spending 300 XP to get one level 2 character, then focus the rest on getting a level 5 (or level 4 + downtime catchup) so you can play at T1 or T2 tables as the opportunity arises.
I prefer to DM reward my characters up to level 3, just cause 3 tends to be where the cool stuff starts to happen. Many of my characters have 1 or more DM reward, though, to help make up some gaps sometimes (like missed encounters sessions and such).
I record each DM reward as a separate session as well on a PC log sheet, and keep a log sheet of unassigned DM rewards.
On my PC sheets, I record under adventure notes "DM Reward" and put the store organizer's name (usually one of my two LCs) and DCI number in the DM slot. Otherwise I treat it the same as a normal play session.
I use the digital, form-fillable log sheets, as well, so moving stuff around when I need to works pretty well.
I write " DM CREDIT" Down the side of the column on the log sheet if its DM Credit (and my logsheets are full of these because Im the dm 95 percent of the time. I was intending to get a stamp for this but didnt get around to it at the end (and a stamp would be better for much larger population bases imo).
I have got into the habit of taking a particular character folio to a game and writing in it when all the players are doing so. This is so I dont forget and so far this process hasnt failed me. Currently I have a level 5 Fighter built on dm credit (who has played twice!) and a Level 4 Necromancer (who has also played twice) and a Level 2 bard (who has never played).
The Necromancer is currently LOADED with 1300 gold pieces without lifting a finger 
I"m usually too excited about getting the award to go more than a day or two before spending it; my only distinguishing factor is that, in the 'notes' section of the log entry, I'll state that the award is a DM award, and include the date and location of the game in case anybody cares to check up on me.
