For downtime days, will there be a guide to tell us how they can spend those? If there already is one can someone point me in the right direction? For faction renown points, as people level up they are supposed to get mentors and secret missions and such. Is there going to be guide for that? Again, if it's already out there can someone point me the right direction? |

It says you can only use them to improve/learn a new tool or language, but you can't improve your skills or even become proficient in new ones. Why is that? It doesn't seem to make sense. Sure, some Skills are based on your body's attributes (i.e. it's hard to study to become more perceptive), but others seem tailor made for training (Medicine, Arcana, Religion, etc), so why can't you improve them? |

In my home campaign, I've allowed players to get free training days if they heavily use a skill through regular play. 250 training days needed like with a tool or language. The only thing so far has been Survival. At least one player has to have the skill to teach others. In the case of Survival the players spent a while wandering around a jungle so I counted double time as the conditions were harsh. My hope is that with enough wilderness adventures, the players all become skilled in Survival and can really feel like their characters are becoming true adventurers than can overcome the environment as well as monsters. Any player who already has Survival will gain Expertise.
But other than a house rule, you can't train skills. |
