| #1SorxoresJan 15, 2015 10:12:55 | Hi
at the end of January (week end of the 31Jan-01 Febuary) in Fredricton (New-BRunswick, Canada) we are going to have our gaming convention (http://enbicon2015.wix.com/enbicongaming) and I was wondering if they was a way we could ask some help from WotC to get some certificate so we can make a magical trading post (we already have someone who interested in holding the kiosk, we just need the certificate? maybe some price (some of the organizer are talking about doing a time DnD event where player get points based on what they accomplish within the time limit and the top X would receive a prize) Can we receive some other item certificate for the regular DnD table running (I believe one of the dnd orginazer what to run due to the dead Expedition so if we can get the certificate for that magical item from that module it could be interesting.
Who should I contact to make this a reality? How do I contact him (e-mail, phone?)
I believe the event is sponsor by Gamezilla (our DnD store in town) but we already used the ccertificate during the weekly Expedition game and was woundering if we can get more for the convention.
Thank you |

Why punish the player living far away, player with limited budget, player who need to work on week ends? Shoudl I start downloading DnD material illegally from the internet in order to save enought money to buy the plane ticket, then prostitute myself to pay for the hotel and restaurant, then tell my wife that I'm not getting my chrismas vacation because I'm taking my vacation to go to Gen Con instead? I like DnD but not that much sorry.
I understand that we cannot have Epic in smaller convention since we don't have the population to make it interesting, but what is the reason why smalelr convention cannot receive a bunch of certificate (cost WotC next to nothing to print them and send them to the nearest game shop who sponsor the convention) and the store can probably find a volunteer that will be more then happy to roleplay a misterious merchant and trade for item.
AL is all about making sure everyone got the same experience, but then only a few lucky can have access to a trading post to trade useless, item that no one in the group wanted, Only a few of them can experience the Epic, and this is without considering that every table uses different rules, because WotC wrote their book in a very subjective way open to interpretation and they gave the individual DM so much liberty interprating the rule, and didn't offer any guideline to structure AL.
So while one table are playing with a wizard adding his Intellect modifier on every Scorching ray and magic missile, the other table is preventing the rogue from using his feat crossbow expert because he's wielding a rapier in his main hand and the hand crossbow in his off hand. All that, while an other table the GM is allowing the dragon bloodline sorcerer to perssuade a dragon (because the sorcerer got advantage and +7 on his roll) to become his mount.
So please WotC, if sharing the SAME game experience is an important objective for you, can you PLEASE, release an errata to settle the ambiguious ruling so all table play the same way. Can you please allow when logistic is possible, give all convention the same access (like I said I understand that our little convention that my receive a maximum of 200 visitors, won't be able to support a huge Epic game that require 200 players (since it's not all the 200 visitors that are interested in DnD, it's not all 200 that will be there at the same time (the ground might be able to acces 75 visitor at the same time) etc...) but event without such requirement (like the trading post guys, he only need 1 customer to be fonctional and fun for that player. if all 50 DnD fan come and visit him and trade it could be fun, but even if there only 1 player it's still great for that player who was able to trade his spider staff for a crown of charisma 23 for example (both very rare item) |
