| #1GreenFeevahAug 18, 2014 23:32:09 | How does Encounters fit into the schedule of the AL Season? I understand that the sessions are supposed to be 1-2 hours and using just the beginning encounters of Hoard of the Dragon Queen, but my question is: what happens after that? As a DM, do I just keep running the first three chapters over and over until the season is over? Do I run the first three chapters and then Lost Mines of Phndelver over and over? When Rise of Tiamat comes out in a few months, do the first three chapters of that adventure get played in Encounters? Expeditions makes sense and I have that all set up for my local store, but I want to know what to tell my new players on Encounters nights.
Thanks everyone in advance for your help. |

Encounters is specifically the first 3 episodes of Hoard of the Dragon Queen. The beginnng part of Rise of Tiamat will not be provided to stores. |

I am the DM running the weekly Encounters program for my local store. I have the .pdf version of Hoard of the Dragon Queen provided by my store owner (and I have bought the book), and I have planned out how to stretch the content provided into as many sessions as is logical, but even stratching the existing content, I don't see any way for what is provided to last for the entire season of Tyranny of Dragons. I am ALSO running Expeditions (on a different night at the same store) that new players can graduate up to.
My question remains though: What do I do with the ongoing Encounters program AFTER I've run through the Hoard of the Dragon Queen content? Do I just start again, or will there be more content provided? Do I use the Starter Set? Is Encounters expected to be 'recycled' content or is there support for the entire season beyond what has been provided?

At least, that's my hope. |
