I feel like I'm completely missing something, as the only clue seems to be the min/max XP awards.

This is nice, as it allows for some good replayability, which is important in a campaign where the player could be playing in the same mod multiple times with different characters.
While I haven't noticed any explicit statements in the ones I've run, a couple of the long ones mention "this would be a good place to stop the session if you are planning on doing so." Plus, there's no strict rule regarding sessions/length (altho most mods still seem designed to fit into a 4-hour slot), so you can split it up a little more loosely depending on the needs/schedules of your particular player.
You'll basically have to review the module yourself before running it and decide how best to split it up. |

| #4NevvurJul 08, 2015 8:29:59 | lol of course, the cover page... One of the pages I tend to skip right past. Thanks, Kalani. |
| #5KalaniJul 08, 2015 8:39:52 | Caveat: Keep in mind that cover pages frequently have copy/paste errors on them. The cover of a half-dozen adventures say they are for characters of 5th-10th level when the adventure is in fact for 1st-4th level. There is also one adventure which states it is double-length when it isn't.
If you have access to the internet - the best resource to determine an adventures Level and length is the following:
http://dndadventurersleague.org/storyline-seasons/elemental-evil/elemental-evil-adventures/
The above link lists every Season 2 Expedition, as well as the Level, and length of each adventure. While the adventures themselves may have errors, this page is kept accurate. Sadly, I am not aware of a similar page for ToD adventures.

This is the comparable page for Tyranny of Dragons Adventures. It's hidden in that you have to click on the topic under Storyline Seasons, not the subjects that pop up. |
| #7NevvurJul 08, 2015 15:24:04 | Thanks again, Kalani and Ainulindalion, book marked.
The question actually occurred to me when Ain- mentioned the session lengths elsewhere, but I didn't want to hijack the thread. Personally, I would like to see this information in or around "adjusting the adventure" or "dungeon mastering the adventure" in future modules, but at least it's somewhere. |
