How are we adjudicating ths spell. as written an argument could be made to summon a fully functional Celestial Ancient Wyrm Dragon as a mount. While this is exploitable at low level it might even be intended at epic level. What guidelines can we use to ensure players get a consistent treatment with multiple DMs? Does it matter if it is cast by a paladin or a bard?

As I mentioned in the Animate Dead thread, we need some official guidelines for anything of a semi-permanent nature. Find Steed and Find Familiar are two such spells; casting Continual Flame into a hooded lantern to create a permanent flashlight is another.

There are a few 6th and 7th level spells that have "until dispelled" effects, but I suppose we'll have a while before there are PCs who can cast spells of those levels.

The Living City campaign had a GM guideline document that was useful. I suppose that the Adventurers League should produce something like it.

Incidentally, the events of the Living City campaign occurred circa 1370 DR, or about 120 years ago (just after the Time of Troubles and 15 years before the Spellplague). Many demihumans (most demihuman adults, potentially) will have lived through all that stuff. Interesting backstory potential…
