Once you muster to All Access, that's your table and DM for the weekend. Otherwise I would expect what you will be asked to play a character that fits within the tier... even if that means making a new PC. I wouldn't expect the DM and all other 5 players to switch to accomadate your one player. |

Myself and 2 of my friends are running tier 2 characters (archer, healer, and arcane blaster) - we'd love to partner with all access players moving from tier 1 to tier 2 for the epics.

As in now. It can be handled but DMs are going to arrive in Indianapolis with a certain set of preparations and accessories ready and changing the Tier changes some of those aspects. Let the people at Baldman Games know if this is going to happen so everyone can have a good time.
The DMs are volunteers - don't make their weekend miserable by dropping this on them Thursday at the Con. It may be too late by then to accomodate your plans.

If the 12 people who did the VIP epics are evenly split 6 low, 6 mid - that works out nicely but seems improbable. It's more likely to be 8 low tier, 5 mid tier, and 1 high tier.
The first epic will mostly not have people level out of their tiers. The low tier track will have only had 1 adventure (I believe the same for mid tier). By the second epic, all of the first tier should have leveled to mid-tier. It's unlikely many mid-tier players will have leveled into tier 3 (unless they were level 8 or 9 coming in).
The challenge left is two-fold: 1. For epic one - how to manage the VIP epic tables (which are run in the all-access area) in terms of tier? 2. How to balance out tables for the second epic if not everyone in a low tier all access group have leveled (it's possible but unlikely). I'd recommend just keep them in the same group anyway because we're talking level 4 versus level 5 - it's a bit of a power gap but not too crazy.

Listed as Team Griffon, we have 1 Wizard, Pally, and Ground-pounder Barbarian. The Wizard (myself), and Pally have experienced ALeague fun since last GenCon14; both playing and DM'ing. We enjoy fireballing cultists, helping Imps "find Bahamut", and putting the "red" on Red Wizards of Thay!
We'd like to get a group setup before the rancor-like terror of the mustering pit; and hopefully convince the Majordomo into getting us a DM in advance.
Please reply on that linked thread if interested.
Thanks,
