The Herald's Guild has been announced and will first see support at Winter Fantasy this weekend (Feb 5-8, 2015).
The Herald's Guild is a new program organized by Baldman Games (who run D&D at major conventions) to recognize, promote, and train DMs. This works nicely with February being "D&D Appreciation Month".
Some features:
I had a very small hand in this, helping to design a few aspects. I encourage everyone to go to the site and apply, then DM at major conventions!

I get that you have to start somewhere, and the major cons are a reasonable place to do that. But trying to get your international community excited for a program that's currently regionalized to the American midwest feels extremely off-message to me. |

One bad mark is not going to get you fired. But is clear those ratings and the ascociated forms will need work. Which, going by the comments at Winter Fantasy, will happen. |
