Not talking about including someone in a Fireball blast in an effort to destroy the bad guys. Talking about slitting throats at night and such. And technically, the murder wouldn't have to be done by the PC himself. He could hire someone, summon a creature to do it, etc. Just want to know if I play AL, if my PC needs to be on guard vs. other PCs. |

From the FAQ:

| #3lallApr 23, 2015 23:06:58 | Thanks. It says the DM is free to give the offending player a warning, not that he has to. Plus, the warning doesn't help my PC who was just murdered. The offending player's disruptive behavior may not persist, but my PC's death does.

| #5lallApr 23, 2015 23:49:14 | Thank you again. I'm still not seeing anything that specifically prohibits it. |
| #6Byakugan01Apr 24, 2015 0:24:47 | In AL you get free raise dead until level 5...so when you come back to life the other PC might be distrought when his character gets arrested for murder. The other players would almost certainly turn on the offender at any rate. Sorry, we dont adventure with people that slit our allies throat...plz roll a new level 1 character.
In my game, blowing up pcs with spells will get an immediate warning, unless the PC getting blown up gives consent. Even then you would be expected to use less optimal spells if possible. I wouldn't even allow a pc to murder another pc. If they insisted I would politely let them know they are sitting at the wrong table.
Theres about a hundred things the DM should be doing to intervene in such a situation. PC wakes up when you sneak in...maid walks by and gets all little Cindy Lou Who...DM flat tells you no...etc.etc.
Killing other pcs is considered both disruptive and aggressive behavior. So, its grounds for being banned from the LGS.

| #8SkerritApr 24, 2015 7:19:09 | Attempting to murder other characters would be disruptive behavior (it prevents the enjoyment of others in a fairly definitive way) and the player would be warned and/or ejected before completing the act. |

| #15OraibiApr 26, 2015 19:26:01 | Some of my players, all in fun, were trying to prevent a male PC (female player) from spending some alone time with a female NPC. Since everyone seemed to enjoy it, I let the players engage in opposed Strength checks to open doors, grapple each other to prevent them from moving, or punch someone in the nose doing no damage on a successful hit.
Technically, it would count as undermining the CHARACTER, but I get the feeling that the PLAYER is okay with that happening, and nobody came out hurt or upset.

| #16QwertyAzertyApr 27, 2015 5:55:51 | remember yes technically there is no rule against PvP. The rule is against disruptive behavior.
So if you as the player do NOT want to engage in PvP, then anyone trying to PvP with you woul dbe deem disruptive behavior. If all the player around the table want to do a PvP session and fighting each other,, if everyone enjoy it, then it would not be disruptive. If a single player at the table don't want to do PvP and everyone else want to do PvP, then the PvP will be disruptive for that player (since the story do not go foward, and personally I woul dbe bored out of my mind, sitting at the table while the 4 other players are doing PvP and I do nothing because I don't want to do PvP)
For this last point this is the duty of the DM to balance it. at my table, we have some player who want to see the story move fowards. They want to run the adventure in a single night. While other player if I would let them do as they want, they would RP and those mini adventure in DDEX2-1 (suppose to be done in 1 hour) could last 3 sessions, so as a DM you need to find the good balance, by keeping the story going so the story driven player can have fun, and allow the RPer to do their RP. |
| #17PauperApr 27, 2015 10:57:41 | AL is not a PvP arena, even if every player and the DM are OK with running it as one.
If players want to run their characters against each other in PvP battles, they can do it outside of designated AL time.

| #18KalaniApr 27, 2015 11:04:52 | For one thing- their factions would reprimand them severely for pvp as the PCs and other Faction-aligned mercenary groups have been instructed to work together, despite any/all differences
They don't have to like it - but they do have to cooperate (with each other and with any faction NPCs they might meet - regardless of faction) |
