| #1AxeMurder0Aug 27, 2014 23:06:32 | So, there's a weekly group doing Encounters (Hoard of the Dragon Queen), but I can only join them once or twice a month.
Since downtime and renown are only rewarded at the end of an episode do I only get these rewards if I'm luckly enough to be playing the final session of an episode?
Can I go back and play missing sessions of an episode with a different group later?
What happens if I go play an Expedition with my character after completing an Encounter session (but not episode)?
Thanks. |

Since Hoard is a campaign they give out rewards per episode so you would log that episode and rewards given. You can use the same character across any AL adventure type as long as it meets the level requirement.
Personally, I would find a different Hoard group that plays closure to you time availability instead of missing several episodes each month. I doubt you would watch a TV program by watching episode 1, then 4, then, 7, then back to 2, then 9, etc. it kinds of ruins the story for you possibly the other players as they constantly have to keep filling you in on what you constantly are missing (which is annoying) and soon enough they will out level you and then you are just a waste of a player slot that maybe some else could use. |

"While you’ll still find D&D Encounters emphasizing play for the casual player (starting characters at 1st level) you’ll find it’s become an introduction to the main storyline."
Is this wrong? Is it not actually designed for the casual player? |

Yes it's for casual players, that's why the exp caps are in place, so that way someone doesn't have to make every session to remain near level to other participants who come to every session. |
