I'm not sure where to look for players/league in my area as my local gaming store isn't running any D&D anymore. Does anyone have any suggestions how I might find a game in my area?

If you are looking for an in-person game in your area I suggest you start a home game.  Another option is to play online via Virtual Tabletops and voice chat.

I'd try google as well. I was not aware, but a "Meetup" group was made in my area for D&D. It seems to be thriving with both home games and local shop games as well. Yahoo groups was where I found my last group from, also a great experience.
