| #1jwraperOct 15, 2014 22:15:31 | Need some advice - I have a player who wants to cast the spell "Glyph of Warding" on coins and then carry them around in a belt pouch. His intention is to curse these coins and carry them in a special coin pouch that he will also curse, then leave these coins around mobs of money hungry cultists or kobolds or monsters. Flip it, next creature to come near it unlocks the spell, typically a sleep spell or like a summon woodland creatures. My initial response it to say he can. especially since it has a material component cost of 200gp per glyph. My only concern/confusion stems from the wording of the spell. It mentions something about not moving the glyph more than 10 feet from where it was cast. |

Suggest instead that he decide where he keeps his treasure while he is out adventuring, and place the cursed coins as a protection of THAT. One day, let him come home and see evidence that one of the spells went off. Did he think to create a 'magic security camera' too, so he knows if he needs to finish punishing such insolence, and who? |
