For all intents and purposes they are seen as the Antithesis of undead. You get similar style creatures... Ghosts and such which you would normally classify as undead but they arnt powered by necrotic energy.
However Im not sure this word will have the same meaning in the Sourcebook. I think you actually might be right, the Warlock makes a pact with some undead spirit/ power to receieve their powers. However its also possible they will attempt to port the Undying concept into FR and if so the character will make a pact with a 'Good' aligned undying power.
The third option is that undying will now be used to represent either undead or undying powers under the same word. So the power might be good or evil. |
| #3Enevhar_AldarionAug 19, 2015 22:31:21 | Well, considering "The Undying" is a title or descriptor given in Forgotten Realms to very powerful undead (Aumvor and Ulgar are two), it could be connected.
But there is also the Undying Temple dedicated to Kiaransalee, a lesser Drow deity, so it could be connected to her.
