#1 QwertyAzerty May 15, 2015 6:12:51	Just by curiousity; Is AL has any plan in bringing the player in other world (Eberron, Dragonlance, Greyhawk, that new Alice in wounderland world etc...)? or is the plan to keep us in Forgotten Realm for ever? If we do change realm, are Forgotten Realm character will be transferable to Dragonlance? Our Pc are going to become planwalker and receive the outsider subtype? Or are we all restart from level 1 an unable to trade magical item? Does character from other setting come on Forgetten realm as well? (like a warforge or Kender PC doing Forgotten Realm adventures?) How would the NPC react to those race (Confuse Warforges for Golem and kender for halfling?)
#2 Coredump00 May 15, 2015 6:37:58	Based on the information we have... they will introduce new realms.  We will be able to use any AL legal character in any realm.   I notice this is *another* thread based on trying to think of ways that the future might, someday, somehow, maybe be used to be mean to players.....
#3 QwertyAzerty May 15, 2015 6:51:00	No this was not trying to find problem in the future, was just a question to see if we'll visit other setting then FR, because personally even if I like FR, I prefer Dragonlance and Eberon. Then I started to think about the repercussion that moving character from one realm to the other would have and was currious about how it would be handle, simply ignored, forbiden or would get a cool backstory into it creating humanoid/outsider player which could create interesting concept and interraction with some spells (could be banished back to FR for example) Then I taught of how a person from FR would react to Kender in dragonlance or Warforge from Eberon, or even changeling (Doppelganger?) or shifter (Lycanthrope?) This was simply a question to be currious and start a discussion for the fun of it. and you had to come here and start complaining and make people beleive that I'm the one complaining.

I cannot speak to what might happen in the distant future, are we haven't only begun to think on Season Four. Thus we do not need to think about how characters might transfer or if you would need different characters or what other wild hypotheticals might occur.    Greg Marks DnDAL Associate Resource Manager
#5 Pauper May 15, 2015 7:39:47	Also, based on past Organized Play experience, it's probably more likely that a visit to another campaign world would likely happen within the context of a single adventure rather than an entire season -- LFR had a couple of Ravenloft-like 'weekends in Hell', a visit to Sigil, and other call-outs.   Given that WotC has said that 'the multiverse' is considered the default setting for D&D in 5th Edition, and that villains from other campaigns are working in the Realms, it wouldn't be unreasonable for an adventure to take a trip to a villain's 'homeworld', so to speak, to gather intelligence or sow the seeds of that villain's ultimate defeat. Will it happen? That's up to the campaign staff.   -- Pauper

#7 QwertyAzerty May 15, 2015 8:47:24	see I ask a simple question and I receive the official answer: Not for the near future, but it's not off the table for distant future and no mechanic have been done to rule it. Then Pauper bring his opinion based on pass experience, and I find it to be a great idea how cool would it be to go in Greyhawk toward the end of Season 2 to beat the original temple of elemental evil and seal the elemental eye (I don't know the story very well, I just know it originated in Greyhawk) Other then a person who assumed intention in my OP, this is what I'm looking for in a discussion where people say what they believe without giving intention and twisting the word of others.Because this is an hypothetical question there no wrong answer since it's all speculation, and it can spark ideas for home game to bring the game out of the store. If WotC do not publish a DDEX where we get teleported in Greyhawk to beat the original temple of elemental evil, I could do it myself in a non AL home game, and the idea would have come from this discussion. Yes it's an hypothetical question and like Skerrit said they are not talking about it yet, since they are working on season 3 which is in FR and they just started to talk about season 4. but that doesn't mean it have to stop us (the community) from talking and woundering what could happen.
#8 Pauper May 15, 2015 8:52:34	I'd guess a lot of Season 3 is already in the works -- it takes time to go through the process of writing and editing adventures before publication, and at least some Season 3 adventures are, if not already in a publishable state, very close to it (given that at least four such adventures are listed as being available for play at GenCon).   It might be a cool thing for the campaign staff to consider for Season 4, especially since Season 4 may be the first season for which adventures may be released for the level 17-20 tier. (There's a Season 3 adventure for levels 11-16 that will be released in time for GenCon.)   -- Pauper
#9 Skerrit May 15, 2015 9:02:48	Well, since we are already in the works for season 4, another world likely couldn't happen till 5 or 6, and then I think it is unlikely unless we decide to do some sort of special one off. It is more likely there would be a second campaign, if at all; rather than cross the streams.
#10 Enevhar_Aldarion May 15, 2015 10:40:51	As long as the published adventures are set around the Sword Coast and tied to the Neverwinter MMO, then an entire season set anywhere other than Forgotten Realms is unlikely until that changes.   As for your Alice in Wonderland reference, that is not a new setting. It was inspiration for the Rage of Demons adventure.
