I ran Courting of Fire for the second time this weekend. I had a bunch of players (7 in total).
One player in particular I had an issue with. Apparently he has 3k in gold when he started. That seemed quite excessive. He was level 4 but even if he has played LMOP I just dont see anyone coming away with 3k in coin.
The second issue is that he had a Legendary item .. a Cloak of Invisibility. I wasnt too concerned when he said he had a magical cloak. I had just assumed he had played a particular scenario with a certain cloak. But when he started to go invisble and shank some Winged Kobolds I had to dig deeper. Then found out that he didnt have one at all, but he had one on a non AL character.
Now, timewise I didnt have a lot of time at the end of the game to check over log sheets. If he plays in my game again, Im going to make sure I take the time to check everyones first up.
What Im after is, what would other dms do in this case? I dont want to rake the guy over the coals, but I have a feeling that he was gaming me during the game, he had a lot more knowledge of 5e than he was letting on. |

Second, as soon as he said "It's on a non-AL character" then that should have been marked off and not used anymore. If he was using the wrong numbers for his die rolls and stats, then they could simply be that he needs to ensure his character is AL legal. If it isn't, make it so and move on. If he doesn't want to make it AL legal, *then* you need to talk to the organizer and let them know what's up. |

He got a Legendary item of Invisibility and decided to move it to his AL character. Like I said the more I think about the more I think I definetly will go over his character with a fine tooth comb. |

They had never read or looked at the AL players guide, so their characters had to be tweaked a little. Once we showed them the guide they got it pretty quick though. |

Kalani, could you slow down on the 'thou shalt' porn? |
