Once you reach level 5, help out your fellow adventurers with a Continual Flame spell cast at level 3 so that when they face off against demons, aberrations, etc that are capable of casting Darkness, they will have a way to see through the darkness.  Darkness only dispels light spells level 2 and lower, so a level 3 Continual Flame will illuminate the area of a Darkness spell.  It only costs you one downtime day and could be the difference between life and death for an entire adventuring party.  Just have them buy the 50gp of ruby dust and cast the spell for them.

Adventurer's League guide pg5 Downtime: Spellcasting Services:

Alternatively, another party member can provide the
service. Both you and the spellcaster in your party spend one
downtime day to have the spells cast.
Anyone in the party can
pay the cost for consumed material components for spells
such as raise dead.

Unless i missed something, Continual Fire is a 2nd level spell, so it should be dispelled by Darkness.

Sure but daylight last only 1 hour, so it would have to be prepared in advance and cast at an appropriate time. I'm ok with PC preparing and casting 3rd level light spells that can dispel darkness spells of 2nd level or lower.

You can't cast Continual Flame using a 3rd level slot since the spell has no entry to cast it At Higher Level.

EDIT It seems you can cast a spell using higher level slot than the spell level, so you're right it would work.

Yeah it works, see my EDIT after a few verification, spellscasting entries say '' To cast one of these spells, you must expend a slot of the spell’s level or higher.'' which suggest you can cast any spells using higher level slots.

Hmmm. That is a good find.

Also would work with Drawmji's Instant Summons.

Some spells, such as magic missile and cure wounds,
have more powerful effects when cast at a higher level,
as detailed in a spell’s description.
