While I don't personally have any issue with this, it is the sort of thing that has been restricted in some prior campaigns as far limiting the list from which companions/wild shape/polymorph options can be chosen.
Are dinosaurs cool in AL? |

Wild shape says you actually have to see an animal before you can wild shape into it (as written in the phb) and this seems sort of strange that a druid would not have seen a bear if it wasn't in a mod. |

| #14CarlTSep 01, 2014 17:05:13 | Pteranaodons are not anatomically suited to serving as mounts. In fact, most 'bird-like' creatures are not wel suited (unless the PCs ride around gripped by their talons).

| #19PauperSep 02, 2014 8:35:19 | It should be noted that there actually are dinosaurs in the world of the Forgotten Realms, in Chult.
Of course, the roughly 18,000 pterafolk who dwell there might take offense at you capturing one of their bretheren to serve as your mount/animal companion...

| (Reply to #22)Mind_Flayer_Monk | We might need some campaign guidance on the Paladin Find Steed spell and what steeds are available to PCs. Elephants make pretty powerful steeds.
