As one of the DMs at one of my tables at Gateway this past weekend said, "As we all know, your character name is the most important part of your character." It can make for some really odd situations. Imagine creating a female halfling rogue named Lidda Tosscobble, and then deciding to rebuild the character into a male elven wizard. |

"This 10th-level character's name is Bob. He has no items so I get that cert." "Wait, I thought your 4th-level rogue was Bob." "It is. I changed it. He's the one who has the three items. You must have been confused since the name Bob is on all my characters." |

I had D&D-playing roommate who always used the name "Bob" for his characters, no matter what race, class, or gender.

| #9Mind_Flayer_MonkSep 05, 2014 14:58:40 | I have one character I plan on changing the name for every five levels. Mainly just adding titles (similar to the PHB 1), but a name change none the less. |
