I'm running HotDQ as a home game. I'll likely hit the end of Episode 1 in a couple of weeks. Is there a guide to Renown rewards?
It's almost always 1 renown/10 downtime per Episode.

unless the event says it has renown I would not award it. Renown is a variable reward and some adventures do not have a renown reward.

After Each Episode
Downtime days: Each episode of this D&D Encounters edition of HotDQ awards 10 downtime days.
Renown: Each episode in HotDQ awards 1 renown point in a character's faction.
It's probably just me, but I find the term "renown" to be slightly… awkward?… in terms of the faction effects.
In common usage, renown is fame; being known or talked about by many people. While successful adventurers certainly gather renown over time, it seems odd that they would only gather that with respect to one faction or another, and that if they switch factions they would suddenly become unknown again. I find it an odd that someone well known to the Order of the Gauntlet, for instance, would be completely unknown to the Harpers. And I think that members of the Lords' Alliance would almost be public figures, well known to everyone. (In Forgotten Realms lore, archmage Khelban "Blackstaff" Arunsun was a known member of the Harpers, and "instrumental in keeping the Lords' Alliance intact." He was also a Lord of Waterdeep, and a key opponent of the Zhentarim.)
I get that the game effects are already decided. It just seems that there are several missions where a character might earn respect, or favors, or whatever, from more than one faction at a time. And maybe some kind of infamy from a faction if they were ever to work at cross-purposes, such as the Harpers and the Zhentarim. (Unlikely given the structure and ground rules for the AL).
I guess instead of "renown," my character will just call it the number of goals or missions completed for his faction.
