Requirements to run 'legal' Expedition games

So sorry if I missed this, but I've been digging around on the various pages and can't see a clean answer.

There's mention of Expeditions being available to run at places other than LGSs.   Is there a document/page which lists what needs to happen for characters in those games to be AL legal (i.e. something that they could then take to a LGS or a convention)?

Is it simply that the game must be open to anyone who shows up, and that it follows the ALPG rules?

Does it HAVE to run weekly, or is bi-weekly ok?

I has to be public: open to whomever might play, and played in public where others might see you. In addition it has to follow all the standard AL rules.

Not exactly public, no.   And 1 place where people could find us means they would need to know to look there, and I have no desire to post advertisements.

So it looks like it'll need to be a home game for this venue.    Which will work, I guess.

I think it's pretty ironic if the requirement for AL drive people away from doing AL, if AL is supposed to draw people in.

Wizards aren't paying you money to do their advertising for them,  Avross. Don't sweat it so much - if they really expect absolute fealty without paying you money for it, their being cultish anyway.

Not too worried.

It's less about getting *stuff* and more about providing an opportunity for the PCs to be AL-legal and playable at cons, (and getting the DM rewards for me and the other guy who would DM)

EDIT: Actually, someone just pointed me to a passage in the ALPG mentioning that DM's can get XP and downtime for running home game versions of Lost Mines (and maybe Expeditions...I'm not sure I'm reading that right...)    Is that accurate?

What you're talking about is "Home and Online Play" (pg. 9). You can't run Expeditions (because you shouldn't even have access to them since those are only suppose to be run for AL events) but you can run Lost Mines of Phandelver or whatever happens to be the current storyline season's adventure product (currently Horde of the Dragon Queen or Return of Tiamat, soon to be Temple of Elemental Evil) and the characters will be 'AL legal' as long as you abide by the other restrictions of the AL rules (such as character generation, no adding magic items to the adventure, etc.).

Thanks.  Not sure why I was getting that confused, but that clears it up for me. (and probably will push me over the edge of buying the Elemental Evil adventure when it drops... )
