| #1TyranthraxusApr 28, 2015 18:47:48 | Hi,
This thread is to list those that are sentenced to a just punishment for errant arcane spellcasting in Mulmaster and it's environs.
If you lose a character via the new sentencing rules please add a post detailing the characters name and details surrounding the characters fate. You dont need to make it spoilery and this is really just an exercise to see how often this happens. Of course if your character 'gets better' you can add that as well.
Maybe format it so:
Name: Xantriaph Class: Abjurer level 8 Fate: Burned at the stake Reasons for death: Cast Disintergrate at Priest of Bane and missed. Arrested, tried and burned publically for daring to challenge the will of Bane and the cities values.
(I dont think we will see a lot of activity on this list, but it will certainly make for interesting reading if we do) *************************** |

| #4OraibiApr 28, 2015 22:33:49 | Well, good luck with it, I hope you make it onto this list!

Briefly, DDEX2-2, Part 1, he used Burning Hands while the party tried to complete the objective, but was surrounded and KOd. Sometime between then and our most recent session, the player was caught shoplifting from the store, and banned. Since the player obviously won't be coming back, and the character used arcane magic during the fight, I just said he was captured and burned at the stake for dramatic purposes, rather than rolling.
Name: Nipolis Class: Dragonborn sorcerer, level 2 Fate: Burned at the stake Crime: Used sorcerous fire magic to kill a member of the City Watch |

Our party Warlock got pretty far refusing to join the Cloaks with his Pirate Background Feature scaring away people from reporting him, and a great Intimidation skill check to chase off more serious threats... but you can only Eldritch Blast so many people and inanimate objects before they burn you. I (a Cleric of Waukeen) paid a hefty bribe to reclaim the body before it was totally incinerated and the ashes were spread. |

A Warlock who has the Mask of Many Faces Invocation could disguise himself as anyone of unimportance as he wanted (a brutal member of the Watch, A notorious pirate docking in, the owner of a store who won't lower his prices, you get the idea) and then just start causing massive property damage, assaulting priests of Bane using Eldritch Blast, Hold Person, If their a GOO they can just taunt the higher ups with telepethy and cast a little utility spell, then as long as they could get away (with spells like Misty Step, Invisibility, Blink, it won't be too hard hopefully) Then just drink a pint of Ale as they smuggly watch their victims hands get removed and branded or drawn and quartered.
It got even worse when i imagined being disguised have signing said victim up for eternal sensual torture at the High House of Hurting, then going to get that person drunk and have him wake up in chains and clamps. |
| #12TyranthraxusMay 06, 2015 19:01:30 | Guys, Please keep this list clear of side posts, so people can just get the details on the latest death. Feel free to create a secondary post, to talk about such side issues. |
| #13OraibiJul 23, 2015 15:59:24 | Anyone else die in Mulmaster from this?
|
| #14SkerritJul 23, 2015 16:03:10 | I have never seen it happen. |
| #15Coredump00Jul 23, 2015 19:52:58 | Not even close in our group.
I am now pinning my hopes on someone being forced into the gladiatorial pits in Hillsfar...
|
| #16TyranthraxusJul 23, 2015 20:02:25 | To be honest, these forums are not used by a heck of a lot of AL people yet and I also never really expected to see a single person be reported in here. I wasnt so much hoping there would be one just that I could read about what happened and the circumstances. Considering there will be a lot more demihuman characters than arcane characters, we should see more happen in Hillsfar.
Although I do find it interesting that if you die in Hillsfar as a Demihuman its more than likely your body would need to be shipped to Elventree to come back from the dead as I doubt a temple would raise a demihuman in the city. |
| #17Ralif_RedhammerJul 24, 2015 7:54:13 | For the most part, everyone in the groups I played with was pretty circumspect and cautious in using arcane magic in Mulmaster.
Playing a dwarf, yeah, I'm more concerned over Hillsfar.

| #19KalaniJul 24, 2015 8:00:41 | Don't worry, the arena plays a prominent role in the storyline (but not every adventure). |
| #20imaginaryfriendJul 24, 2015 9:56:20 | My human tempest cleric with a severe inferiority complex towards elves should have an interesting time.. which to me is the intent. (oh and thanks for that smugglers background, whomever made it |
