Season 2 start date and adventure availability

I asked at my local FLGS about when the next adventure book is going to be in-shop, expecting it to be maybe the first week of March or last week of February since that is around the time the new season of AL is supposed to start; however, I was told they wouldn't have it until March 27, which is the normal street date for the product.

 

So, Season 1 end of February 28.  Season 2 starts a month later?  We have *no* AL season during the month of March.  Is that correct?  I thought the Wizard Play Network stores would be getting the 5e books earlier than normal store street dates as an incentive for being in the Wizard's Play Network.  Is that not the case with the advnture books?

 

This disppoints me because it means that there will be adventures released for Season 2 (more than likely, during March) and we won't be able to make use of the new character rules from the new book, until the end of March.

 

Please tell me someone, somewhere has simply misunderstood something here.  Because, really?

The new expeditions are playable from March 1 and are available to download since yesterday.

The FREE Elemental Evil players rules will be available March 10th as a PDF

 

D&D Expeditions for Elemental Evil will be available to play at select conventions as premier events, starting March 13th.

D&D Expeditions for Elemental Evil will be available to download March 22nd and  play at stores on April 1st

D&D Encounters will be available sometime mid march to hopefully start store play March 18th

I misunderstood. The adventures I mentioned are the new ones for first season. They are still released, so march has these new adventures, it is not an empty month.

Here is hoping that if Encounters are scheduled to start March 18th that we will get the materials at least a week early. I'm doubtful however since March 18th is pretty much....Mid-March.
