| #2FelwredNewAug 05, 2015 10:40:27 | It's a +2 shield that just compels the wearer to be a bit more murderous |

| #4SkerritAug 05, 2015 11:18:43 | I have faith in your ability to RP a negatie trait without derailing an adventure. |
| #5SorsohkaAug 05, 2015 11:42:44 | I have faith in MY abilityes. I have faith in the abilities of a lot of players.
but I do not have faith in the ability of 100% of the community. There is within the community some, even if only a minority of player who are unable to do such thing, and some DM who are unable to reconize such thing, and those are the people that I don't have faith in and those are the people that will cause troubles. |

| #13RavixAug 06, 2015 11:07:25 | Yawn, you're overthinking this. |
| #14SorsohkaAug 06, 2015 11:30:02 | it's not overthinking when it actually happen. I'm happy for you for finding the perfect public group where everyone are great RPer.
But other people (me included) are stuck with 1 or 2 players who do not respect the AL convention of creating a hero who follows the instruction of their faction in order to accomplish the objective given by the module, and me (and I am sure other player stuck in similar situation) would appreciate if AL stop giving those bad RPer reason to screw up expeditions.
Because of those few people I am no longer going to the store to play, I play online instead. and I am currently asking the DM to organize teh table next season so the player who don't want to respect AL convention play together at there own table, and player who wish to work together to accomplish the objective given by the factions, on a different table. But if WotC would stop giving item that help those bad RPer to RP in an even more diruptive way I would greatly appreciate.
It's only a few player that are problemtic, but those few player are ruining it for the entire table. |
| #15RavixAug 06, 2015 11:47:11 | The problem then lies with the players, not the item. |
| #16SorsohkaAug 06, 2015 12:17:24 | I never said that it was the magic item fault, I said the magic item didn't help. yes the problem if the player and the DM (which is why I'm trying to work with the organizer to organize the table in such a way that the goofy player ignoring the AL convention can do there wierd stuff together, while an other table with player interested in doing the campaign objectif can play at a second table.
But I would still appreciate if WotC can at least try to have a certain balance with the magical item between - the trap item (splintmail+1, horn of blasting, leather armor, wingwear, etc..) Item that can be replace by mundane item or item that will end up doing nothing but still count on your permanent item - the very restricted item that are most likely going to be left behind (rod of the pact keeper) since no one in the group can use it - the good neutral item (Hew, Talon, ring of evasion, etc...) might bring some RP goodies like glow near orc or give you an uneasy feeling in a forest or just a cool backstory like Talon. - the good align item (Orcsplitter) an item that will change your way of playing your charater but for the best, pushing you to become better for your party - the evil item (wall of teeth, 4 legendary elemental prince weapon, hazirawn) Item that can bring great depth to your character, and experience player love those double edge item, forcing you to battle with the item itself to avoid falling in the dark side. But those item are difficult to use by new player, those player that WotC are trying to attract in Expedition, which is the reason why 5e rules are greatly simplified, why the expedition are so easy to achieve and do not challenge more experienced player. |
