It's my understanding that the next AL arc is going to start in March 2015, starting at low level again.

What I'm wondering is, does WotC plan to do something like LFR for 5ed, as in, an ongoing situation where you can possibly have an ongoing campaign from levels 1-20? Or is it the case, that its all always just going to be, arc x, then start over with arc y, then start over with arc z, etc.? That's all fine-and-dandy, but I'm looking for something that doesn't always, start all over again.

In short, does WotC plan to do something like LFR for ongoing campaigns where you don't start over, necessarily?

Its a combination. The story continues, but with the new arc, there will be more low level adventures than high. So you might want a new PC to play those, but you could also play the high levels with your old PC. (think like LG, but with the plot turnover being much faster)

Skerrit: I know you commented on this earlier, but has the position changed where you wont be neccessarily retiring the Season 1 Expeditions that quickly ? Would it entirely possible for season 1 scenarios to be still in play when Season 3 comes around?

So does this mean that characters created in one story season will be legal to play in other story seasons? I kind of had the impression that, if you created a character for Tyranny of Dragons, you could only play Tyranny of Dragons modules with that character.

We are currently at the midway point in chapter 6 of HotDQ. There were approx 28 weeks from the start of this current encounters season to the start of the next season. We are trying to get through each chapter (episode) in 2 weeks playtime. My estimate is that this should allow us to get through both HotDQ and RoT at about the time the next encounters season is due to start.

As long as the material is of high quality, I plan on doing the same thing for the next encounters season.

The upside of the 1-15 hotdq and rot combo is that I wont have to deal with any super magic stacked characters until tier 4.

I believe the plan is to release the next two levels of Faction information with the next release of the DnDAL PG (beginning of the year). It is not possible to advance to the second tier of a faction until you get 5th-level, 10 reknown and complete your special mission (and those do not start appearing for a little less than a month).
