Trouble Registering DCI for D&D AL

I filled out the form for my DCI at GenCon and have been trying to register it online and I keep getting this error:

There is a problem with the email you have entered. Please re-enter or contact customer service.

I've opened a ticket, but cust svc has been unhelpful so far.  Does anyone know if the event organizers have to enter something online before I can register the DCI?  It would help to know if I need to be patient because something has to be done before I can register or if I need to be persistent with the cust svc folks who just seem to want to close the ticket to get them to track down some kind of weird data issue w my account.

Thanks for the help.

Same issue with mine.  I also put in a ticket.

Your messages reminded me to try to activate my DCI number too. I didn't have any issues, so maybe the problem is fixed.

I got this too, so I used a different email, and it worked. I tried to get a DCI registsred last year and never was 100% successful getting it to work (I get errors when I try to have it send me a password), even though I called WotC on the phone to try to get it rectified. I suspect my original email is hiding in their database somewhere, associated with a failed attempt to register my original DCI card, that WotC apparently cannot get to work nor excise from their system.

Is there anyway to get a DCI number other than from LGS's or Cons? When I asked at my store, the only one within 45 miles, I got a deer in the headlights look and they had no idea what I was talking about.

The same email address I am trying to use for the DCI registration is already on file for my Wizards account.  Not sure why it won't work.

Your best bet with DCI registration is to get a WPN store to load the DCI number for you. You will need to enter an event to do so, just sign up to a cheap or free magic the gathering event, if they don't run D&D Encounters at the store.
