| #1TheBreenMar 05, 2015 8:44:43 | I'm putting together a… glossary of sorts, I suppose… of the NPCs (including named monsters) known in the Tyranny of Dragons story arc. So far I've included Expeditions episodes up to DDEX1-10, but I've just touched on Lost Mines of Phandelver and Horde of the Dragon Queen—mostly to include the dragons.
The document is already very long at 17 pages, but is obviously not yet complete. Is this something anyone else would be interested in working on?
As a sample, I'll post the section on dragons. If you know of any I've missed, please let me know.
Thanks!
Dragons Claugiyliamatar. Ancient green dragon that lives in the Kryptgarden Forest. Known as “Old Gnawbones” because she is often sighted with a corpse hanging from her jaws. She has laid waste to the kingdom of Elfrin and devoured whole orc hordes. So far, she’s turned down the Cult of the Dragon’s offers to turn her into a dracolich. She has generally been a loner; an alliance would threaten all of Faeûn. Has a fondness for scrying magic and employs several crystal balls and similar devices. Picks her targets carefully, fighting only the weakest. Glazhael the Cloudchaser. An adult white dragon that is doing his part to ensure the rise of Tiamat, hoping that the queen of evil dragons will reward him with untold power. He is, however, a bit on the dim side, thinking of visitors as either servants (who bring him food) or as enemies (who do not bring him food). Mostly, Glazhael is proud to guard his treasure for Tiamat, his most glorious and perfect queen. If the PCs speak with Glazhael, he responds with a pompous speech about the superiority of dragons over humans, dwarves, and so forth. If the characters flatter him to a ludicrous degree, he listens to anything that sounds like fawning, servile, helpful obedience but offers nothing in return. He will generously spare teh lives of those who offer him tribute in the form of treasure or food. Those who challenge him become targets of his breath weapon. Lennithon. An adult blue dragon allied with the Cultists attacking the town of Greenest. Lennithon doesn’t consider this attack to be its fight, and is a half-hearted ally. It isn’t keen on engaging adventurers for someone else’s benefit. Rythnax. Male black dragon wyrmling sent by the Cult of the Dragon to secure and transport the information that Ellison was charged with collecting. He has established a small lair in the Twilight Marsh during his visit. Despite his alignment, Rythnax loves having visitors; at least for a while, anyway. He is young, boastful, and brash; and appreciates an audience to his wild and outlandish stories of strength, cunning and ferocity. He bores quickly though, and lashes out at anyone he feels doesn’t sufficiently appreciate his tales. Scorlworyx. “The Scorching Wind.” This red dragon attacked the Temple of the Scale 100 years ago and destroyed the Circle of the Scale cult within. Lives in the Dragonspine Mountains. Throstulgrael. “Velvet.” Black dragon who left his home in the Flooded Forest near Mulmaster to claim the northern Twilight Marsh. He attacked and subjugated the Rootwater, Dusk-Dusk and Muckmarsh clans of Lizardfolk, killing their former king Scalecrusher. Throstulgrael is not present when the PCs encounter the lizardfolk. Venomfang. A young green dragon who recently claimed a tower in the ruined village of Thundertree, near the place where the Neverwinter River emerges from Neverwinter Wood. (LMoP) Vorgansharax. “The Maimed Virulence.” A green dragon on the older end of adulthood (almost eight centuries old) whose massive size is overshadowed only by his even more massive ego. Despite grievous injury as a wyrmling sustained at the hands of a bronze dragon that left him with a tattered and maimed right wing, Vorgansharax cuts quite an imposing figure. He is large of build and terrifyingly strong; far more so than other dragons of his age. Coupled with his injuries, his sheer size has made him a rather clumsy flier, but monstrously destructive on the ground. Vorgansharax is the offspring of the ancient green dragon Claugiyliamatar, who rules the forest of Kryptgarden far to the west. As vengeance for the factions’ involvement in her forest, she has lent (sold, more like) vorgansharax’s aid to the Cult of the Dragon, who has sent him to Phlan to secure the Pool of Radiance and return it to its former power. Vorgansharax has a large contingent of kobolds, dragonborn, and half-dragons that are fiercely loyal to him, many of which are powerful arcane magic-users in their own right.
