#1 ZHDarkstar Jun 16, 2015 16:31:01	I'm glad to see that the certs are being printed with their quirks, as it has reduced bookkeeping for my players. However, I found that the cert for 2-8 has a different printed DC than what is written in the pdf. In cases like this, which takes precendence? I'd post a pic of the cert in question, but they're back at the FLGS.

#4 Kalani Jun 16, 2015 17:21:20	Excluding its quirks - A magic item has the stats listed in the DMG (including rarity). The quirks function as listed in the pdf.

I've got 2-8 scheduled for this week, so I would like to know what my options are as store organizer. It hasn't been run yet at my FLGS, so I still have all of the certs.   Also, since the quirk in question can be worked around by picking the item up at the start of the day and never putting the item down until a long rest, would it be worth the hassle of having to correct the item each time I run 2-8? Considering how minor of a quirk it is, it almost seems like making an exception to the PDF > Cert rule in this case would be easier for all DMs running 2-8. Or at the very least, include in the pdf that the cert is wrong. If the pdf's are finished long after the certs are printed, then it shouldn't be that hard to verify that the certs are accurate.   Unless of course, this is yet another case where the official admin response is "Cobra Command doesn't provide us with X..." If so, that's yet another thing that I wish Hasbroke would fix about the AL...
#6 Skerrit Jun 17, 2015 9:11:17	Yes, you should write the correct number on the certificate.  When in doubt, go with the adventure.    Note this is similar to the PotA shield cert that says +2, but the adventure says +1. Its supposed to be +1.   Greg Marks DnDAL Associate Resource Manager
#7 Kalani Jun 17, 2015 9:17:06	There was a list of certs with errors on them somewhere, although I cannot for the life of me remember where I saw it. I believe it was something the campaign staff was keeping track of.... Think of the cert corrections as simply errata.   You don't have to change the text on the cert, just know that the text is not consistent with the primary rules source. As with all D&D documents in the past, if two sources of information contradict - look to the primary source for the correct answer.   PHB < MM (Creature Stats) PHB > MM (Rules, Character Options, Combat, etc) Table < Text​ And in the case of the Expeditions Adventure Text > Cert Adventure Text > Table* ​* Note, that in some adventures the table is more correct than the adventure text, with some magic items/treasure being accidentilly removed from the "Treasure" section of the adventure.
