| #1nezthulraSep 09, 2009 21:45:58 | I see all types of threads out there talking about the 4E PC game that everyone wishes someone would make. Use this thread to post what features and game mechanics you would like to see if a PC version were made. Don't use this forum to complain about other people's postings. If you get an idea from reading another person's post or you think that they forgot something, post it as a new feature or game mechanic request, don't do a link or mini-reply as this just make it all messy. Also, don;t assume that just because the information is in the published rule books that the software developers know to put it in. I have done technical business analysis for software development and you would be suprised at how much is left out of a product because someone always thought somone else "should have known" to put it in. Post each request individually, don't post two in the same post.
Use these examples below:
Game Mechanic Request: Turn-Based Desciption of Request: I would like to have the game be turn based or Feature Request: Ravenloft Campaign Setting Description of Request: Would like to have Ravenloft as a 4E PC game setting.

| #2nezthulraSep 09, 2009 21:47:51 | Feature Request: Mounts Description of Request: The ability to purchase and ride mounts |
| #3nezthulraSep 09, 2009 21:58:30 | Feature Request: Change Item Color Description of Request: The ability to change the colors (dye) clothing, armor, and other various materials. Examples: Aa character should be able to dye their brown leather armor black. A Paladin should be able to dye their platemail from silver to green. A character should be able to dye their backback from blue to orange. |

| #5Duke5150Sep 10, 2009 3:43:00 | I'd like many D&D games for the PC and home consoles. (ps3) I'd really enjoy a mini game, where the units you get look like painted figures. Units have point costs and you can build your own groups. Through game settings you can change the max group size to be anywhere from 4 to 6 to 20. A single player story mode and an online battle mode with rewards to improve online groups. I wouldn't hate a single player/multiplayer adventure builder either. Controllable areas, that you can take over (like risk) and gain benefits from along with other modes of play, deathmatch where you just kill each other. Monster hunt, treasure hunt and more. A real time RPG like those found on the pc, torment, baldurs gate, ice wind dale. NWN. I'd really like some new darksun and eberron games. But I'd buy forgotten realms after the spellplague. Including an adventure builder would be nice. Some RTS games (real time) that are not broken and you can play online as well as offline with a campaign editor. (thing wc3 tft) A new fighting game for us fighting fans would be awesome. Make it a core game that takes from every source including settings. Think soul calibur 4 in terms of character creation with every playable race and then some. Warforged, drow, thrikreen, deathknight, slaad and more. A kotor styled game, a god of war styled game, a final fantasy styled game. All with great single player modes and online play that changes the game up a bit. Both co-op and competitive. |
| #6myt3m0w53Sep 10, 2009 9:58:24 | yeah, give us that PSP Dnd ttle for other systems or better yet, enhance it and give it to us on the PC!!! wait I know, here is an even better idea!!!! dont change the forums(too late for this) and make some ohter programmers hurry up the VTT!!!! then we can have a real turn based game!!!! just a request!! |
| #7StuntmanSep 10, 2009 11:30:38 | Feature Request: Full Control via Keyboard only. Description: Be able to play the game using the keyboard without having to use the mouse. I would like to be able to scroll, move characters in any direction and perform all actions using the keyboard only. I don't mind if you can use the mouse, but I want to be able to not use the mouse. I just can't stand it when I have to take my hand off the keyboard to use the mouse. |
| #8StuntmanSep 10, 2009 11:33:39 | Feature Request: Quick combat option. Sometimes, you have a combat encounter that you know you will be able to kick butt without any problems. Instead of going through the motions, have an option where you can just have the computer control the character for its turn. For instance, you can press "Q" and the computer will control the character's turn. Alternatively, you can also press a commmand (like -Q) to have the computer control all of the actions for the entire party for the turn or encounter. |
| #9Duke5150Sep 11, 2009 6:26:41 | I'd like the option to use the mouse, as I'm not a fan of wasd movement or the keyboard. Options for both would be great. |
| #10StuntmanSep 11, 2009 10:57:32 |
I'm sure that mouse use will be the default. I'm one of those old fogies that like to be able to use the keyboard exclusively. I still use <Ctrl>-<Insert> and <Shift>-<Insert> to copy and paste. |
| #11AvonRekaesSep 11, 2009 11:30:50 | Feature: Use the Eberron Campaign Setting, Correctly. Description:
In general, I'd like the setting to be used as intended, and not bastardized or "dumbed down" to be like a normal DnD setting, with healing coming from temples, or all businesses being unrealistically run by the Dragonmarked houses. |
| #12bruntfcaSep 11, 2009 11:54:46 |
That game already exists. Its called Temple of Elemental Evil by Atari. ToEE > DnD Tactics on the PSP (I have both). Its the best turn based implementation of 3.5. You will need patch 2 (not 3), and the Co8 (Circle of Eight) patch to make it work. |
| #13StuntmanSep 11, 2009 14:03:51 |
Yes. And I have played it and loved it. Now I want a 4E version. |
| #14AvinSep 11, 2009 19:46:19 | Troika's Toee graphic style. Kthxbai :P |
| #15nezthulraSep 12, 2009 13:51:05 | Feature Request: Interactive Items (Presence) Feature Description: For items such as Swords of Dragonslaying, Swords of Treasurefinding, and Orcslayers, and whatever you call them are near the item, object, area, etc. that is is designed for, it should start to glow or exhibit effects of a particular nature. |
| #16nezthulraSep 12, 2009 13:53:27 | Feature Request: Interactive Objects (living objects) Feature Description: For items that are imbued with souls such as living artificats and what have you, those items should "speak" to the owner and/or exhibit effects if the owner strays from the will of the object or whose actions are inline with the will of the object. |

To save time, I'm only going to comment on a single point of your post. Cleric's offer their services to those who need and take donations in most places. Payment is not always required through churches, unlike house jorasco. If a game included visitable churches and clerics, yet had no option for healing, it would be a rip off. If I visit a church of the sovereign host, or silver flame, I'm probably gonna get some healing. The only reason house Jorasco would be a better choice, is because a "true" cleric can't be found or you're a criminal/foe in the eyes of the churches and they won't help you.
Still, I like your ideas. Although I wouldn't want to spend all my time in breland just like I don't wanna spend all my time in xendrik. |
| #18nezthulraSep 14, 2009 17:38:52 | Feature Description: Player Dwellings Feature Description: Players should be able to purchase a spot of land and pay to have dwellings built. Dwellings can be anything such as a cave, underground labryinth, tower, keep, castle, even floating castle perhaps. |
| #19DungeoneeringSep 15, 2009 19:07:19 | Okay, this thread is obviously full of wishful thinking and just for fun. But I can't resist pointing out that in the event that a 4e game gets made, the chances of WotC making it are close to zero (and, given their track record, I think we can be greatful for that). The license will be sold to someone like Bioware or Obsidian and they'll make the game. WotC is not going to hand them a list of 'feature requests'. They'll have some meetings, say "Make it 4e-ish," and check back with them every six months. The developers, whoever, they are, ain't gonna be reading this thread. |
| #20StuntmanSep 16, 2009 1:07:56 | But, we can still dream. |
| #21kletian999Sep 20, 2009 8:29:50 | I would be willing to bet at least one game developer at most major software companies reads this board. |
| #22nezthulraSep 20, 2009 12:47:24 | Game Mechanic: Single Player Game Mechanic Description: Game should be single player, the ability to complete the entire game without the need of other game players. |
| #23nezthulraSep 20, 2009 12:48:22 | Game Mechanic Request: Multiplayer Game Mechanice Description: Game should be multiplayer, with the ability to have other players or hire henchmen. |
| #24aivaruinSep 23, 2009 2:12:28 | I will not make it flood of requests by multiple posts. So all in one: Turn based. Self explanatory. Team roster based. One player manages party by drafting/selecting members and plays for all of party instead of one char. Macro usage. Ability for players to set up custom macros to handle imediates OA's and free actions outside of thier turn (examle swordmage cheesing out with versatile sword hand swaps. Some amount of cheese must be kept for smell alone Switchable feature to deal with out of turn actions. Currently know two ways to handle: Stop and ask if trigered. Or give responce bar on triger, bar deplenishes with time, say few seconds (adjustable variable) if during responce bar specific button is pressed game stops and player resolves jis triggers, if not game continues without it. Multiplayer over LAN. No need for full on internet support, just test it out with virtual lan software. Multiplayer modes of Vs. and Coop. Self explanatory. High end wishfull thinking: Centralizet internet server that ranks players (teams or in right terminology Parties) and also hosts events and allows communication. Don't go full on online more like Diablo 2 like. |
| #25Silverblade_The_EnchanterSep 25, 2009 2:00:59 | Only way you COULD do 4th ed on a computer is turn based. Loved neverwinter nights, but the real time combat just blows utter chunks, versus Temple of Elemental Evil's turn based. Real time prevents the strategy aspect of D&D being applied, which is especially important in 4th ed. Temple of Elemental Evil was indeed, GORGEOUS! hey a 4th ed 1st perosn shooter with RPG elementa ala Fallout3 and Vampire the Masquerade Bloodlines...hm...could it be done? |
| #26thescalesoffateSep 25, 2009 9:46:29 | hey a 4th ed 1st perosn shooter with RPG elementa ala Fallout3 and Vampire the Masquerade Bloodlines...hm...could it be done? *shudders at the horrors* |
| #27joni-sanSep 25, 2009 13:01:43 | 4th ed 1st perosn shooter with RPG elementa ala Fallout3 ಠ_ಠ |
| #28Silverblade_The_EnchanterSep 30, 2009 14:51:41 | Fallout 3 is probably one of the best games EVER made. It's an RPG 1st perosn shooter, like it or not and damned good. Vampire the Masquerade Bloodlines had more true roleplaying...but Fallout has more strategy in combat. (Luring enemies into your mines is hysterically amusing, mhaha!) it would take a very good studio to make such a game, but hey it's not impossible! Any of the naysayers played the two games I mentioned, hm? generlaly, D&D has to be turn based, especially 4th, you cannot do it Real Time like Neverwinter Nights, but...who knows. My issue is that many nitwits out there controlling game studio's funding are like Hollywood's "beancounters": they only pay for cheap garbage they know will give them money back. Trying to persuade them tpay for an old fashioned turn based game...see the issue? only a few studios have the independance nowadays to push for a turn based game. |
| #29Fox_ReeveheartSep 30, 2009 17:08:34 | I don't remember if I put it into this thread or not, but hasn't anyone played gladius for ps2/gamecube? Thats a turn based fighter game with a square grid that works almost like 4e in a odd way. You can even do up to 4 players in that game (4 controllers, duh) for the arena. So the precedent of something in that fashion has already been done =D |
| #30rrrsenalOct 12, 2009 4:56:49 | We all like playing the tabletop version, right? I'd like to see a game that looks somewhat like it and plays as a turn-based game. Something that looks like Poxnora but plays by D&D rules. It would be nice to be able to play it online with others or played solo. |
| #31tieflingrogueOct 14, 2009 2:32:23 | I'd like a NWN 3 4th ed game. requests? Make the damn toolset easier to use! It's really complicated for the layman!
Or I wouldnt even mind a Baldur's Gate style game with 4th ed rules. I really don't mind the graphics of those games. It was the cool storyline that kept me captivated. |
| #32tieflingrogueOct 14, 2009 20:46:42 | So will there ever be a 4th ed computer game? I'd like to see one myself. I miss Baldur's Gate, Icewind Dale and the like. As I said before I don't care if someone uses the engine for Baldur's Gate graphics wise. Just figure out how to do 4th ed style rules. Hmm anybody out there know how to edit those little graphics guys in the game? Always wanted to give my PC a tiefling look, a tail that moves back and forth. Little stuff like that makes me happy sometimes. |
| #33rrrsenalOct 02, 2010 8:49:44 | I'd love a turn-based PC game also, but we're wasting our time here. Direct something to a computer game forum or to a video-game manufacturer. They won't see it here. |
